Deck Primer

Turbo Miraidon ex is still pretty much the same, but it's extremely fun to play in my opinion. Also, if you do not want to read the description due to it being quite long, you can scroll all the way to the Summary to just get most of the important information of this deck.

Turbo Miraidon ex is still pretty much the same, but it's extremely fun to play in my opinion. Also, if you do not want to read the description due to it being quite long, you can scroll all the way to the Summary to just get most of the important information of this deck.

Strategy: I'd recommend going Second with this deck, because you can potentially get a turn 1 Amp You Very Much or any type of attack. Anyways, during your First Turn, try and get out any of the following Pokémon (Only Miraidon ex, Hands, and either Tynamo or Magnemite are mandatory):

- 1-2 Miraidon ex (You want to use Tandem Unit)

- 1 Magnemite or Tynamo

- 1 Iron Hands ex

- Latias ex

- Electrike (Optional, but good if you want to set up Mega Manectric ex for later)

- Squawkabilly ex

- Mew ex (Optional)

- Any other Pokémon of your choice.

Anyways, during this turn you should try to thin out as much of your deck as possible to heighten your odds of hitting those Lightning Energies with Electric Generator, though you should be doing this pretty much the whole game but do be careful to not deck out which can happen if you play extremely risky. You should also be setting up your board to take KOs with Hands on Single Prize Pokémon and then to use Zekrom ex or Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex in the Endgame. Professor's Research, Ultra Ball, Nest Ball, Squawkabilly ex, or basically any card that gets more cards out of your deck makes thinning out your deck a lot easier. Anyways, I will now be moving onto Pokémon Explanations.

Pokémon Explanations:

Miraidon ex serves as a way to get out your Basic Lightning Pokémon and as a backup Attacker with Photon Blaster to deal 220 Damage to finish off a Pokémon.

Iron Hands ex is pretty much your primary Attacker to take 2 Prizes on Single Prize Pokémon with Amp You Very Much.

Zekrom ex is another Primary Attacker after your Opponent has taken a few Prize Cards and can deal insane damage.

Magneton and Eelektrik both provide ways to accelerate Lightning Energy from your Discard Pile to your Pokémon, Magneton gives up a Prize Card to combine with Zekrom and gives 3 Lightning Energies to Lightning Pokémon in any way you'd like, and Eelektrik puts 1 Lightning Energy for your Discard Pile to One of your Benched Pokémon, regardless of typing.

The 50 HP Magnemite can help set up Lightning Energies that you discarded to your Pokémon, quite helpful is you have an Early Lead.

Tapu Koko ex (PAR) is a backup Attacker that deals 120 Damage and Paralyzes your Opponent's Pokémon after 1 of your Pokémon fainted during your Opponent's previous turn, this card is quite powerful at stalling a turn since your Opponent cannot Attack or Retreat for a turn due to being Paralyzed to help you make a come back.

Zeraora (DRI) is a Snipe Attacker to KO Support ex Pokémon like Fez, Mew, Squawk, etc.

Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex is another backup Attacker, specifically useful when your Opponent is at 1-2 (Maybe 3 with Counter Gain if you added it in) Prize Cards remaining to take your last remaining Prize Cards.

Latias ex gives your Basic Pokémon Free Retreat.

Mew ex helps with Draw Support, a Pivot, and even a backup Attacker if set up with Eelektrik.

Fezandipiti ex provides Draw Support as well.

Squawkabilly ex helps you get a fresh new hand during your First Turn.

Mega Manectric ex provides a wall against Basic Pokémon with its first attack, Flash Ray and up to 330 Damage with Riotous Blasting, this also helps against certain cards that wall Big Basic decks.

This concludes the Pokémon Explanations, so I will now move onto Trainer Card Explanations.

T.C. Explanations: (T.C. Is short for Trainer Cards)

Professor's Research gets you a fresh new hand of 7 Cards after discarding your hand, doesn't work when going First though.

Boss's Orders provides gust.

Arven helps find your item and tool cards.

Iono provides disruption.

Nest Ball and Ultra Ball helps you find your Pokémon.

Electric Generator accelerates up to 2 Lightning Energies from the top 7 Cards of your deck to your Benched Lightning.

Super Rod provides Recovery for Pokémon and Basic Energies. Night Stretcher provides additional recovery.

Prime Catcher, the ACE SPEC of choice, provides great gust by bringing in one of your Benched Pokémon into the Active Spot and one of your Opponent's Benched Pokémon into the Active Spot.

Air Balloon helps give most of your Pokémon Free Retreat if Latias ex isn't in play, especially helpful for Eelektrik, Bravery Charm makes one of your Basic Pokémon tankier, and FBEC gives Hands free retreat and lets Hands deal 20 more Damage.

Academy at Night helps as a stadium bump and to put a card from your hand as the top card of your deck.

This concludes the TC Explanations, so I will now explain basic combos that you can perform.

Basic Combos:

1.) Pop Magneton with Overvolt Discharge, attach the Lightning Energy to your Attacker of choice, then use Conter Catcher to gust up a Pokémon to finish off, and then use that Attack to finish off that Pokémon.

2.) Use Magneton's Overvolt Discharge (Unless it's too risky), Counter Catcher to gust up a Pokémon, and then use Iono.

3.) Use Academy at Night to put a Lightning Energy at the top of your deck, then use Electric Generator to attach at least 1 Energy.

4.) Boss's Orders/Counter Catcher/Bundle if they only have 1 Benched Pokémon and the one that'll move to the bench has Damage Counters on it/Prime Catcher, then use Zapdos ex's Attack and finish off the Benched Pokémon and potentially the Active Pokémon as well to take 1-2 Prize Cards if you replace Zeraora (DRI) with Zapdos ex, or you can gust the active ex Pokémon assuming the 210 Damage can KO it to the bench, and then snipe KO that Pokémon.

These are all the combos that I'll provide, there's definitely more you perform, and this ends the Strategy section as well, so I will be moving onto the CTC section.

CTCThe cards that I'd recommend to add into this deck as an alternative for you to try out or try to fit your preferences will be sorted into a list with a brief description for every card. If there any cards here or from your own thoughts/ideas that you'd wish to add into this deck, cut out any cards that you don't find too useful. Also, while cutting out cards, you can always start off with cutting 1 Miraidon ex since many people have been running 1 as of recent. With this being stated, here is the list:

Pokémon:

- Any 60 HP Magnemite or 70 HP Magnemite - Self-Explanatory, use whatever is available.

- 1 Eelektross (OBF) - Provided a single prize Attacker, can deal 60 Damage and gust up one of your Opponent's Active Pokémon and potentially paralyze it with a Coin Flip.

- 1 Zapdos ex - Gives you a tankier Snipe Attacker and a pivot, alternative to Zeraora (DRI).

- 1 Pikachu ex - Combines with Area Zero Underdepths.

- 2-2 Mega Manectric ex Line - Makes your extremely strong Atatcker with Free Retreat more consistency.

- 2-2-(Maybe 1) Eelektrik/Eelektross Line - If you're scared of the Psyduck Promo that released with Mega Evolution, then you can pivot to a 2-2/Sometimes Stage 1 Eelektrik/Eelektross Line.

- 1 Budew - Provides early game item-lock to slowly set up, extremely niche but I found some use with Budew in testing.

- Iron Thorns ex - Shuts off all Rulebox Pokémon's Abilities besides Future Pokémon and helps as a backup Attacker.

Trainer Cards:

- 3rd Professor's Research - Self- Explanatory.

- 4 Carmine - Makes going First a lot better.

- 4th Boss's Orders - Self-Explanatory.

- 2nd Iono - Provides even more disruption.

- 4th Ultra Ball - Provides further Pokémon Search

- 1 Counter Catcher - More gust.

- 1-2 Pokégear - Makes finding Suppporter Cards even easier.

- Secret Box - Alternative ACE SPEC of choice.

- Maximum Belt - Used for Mega Manectric ex if that's what you want to focus on.

- 2 Area Zero Underdepths - Brings your total bench size to 8 when Pikachu ex is in play.

This concludes the CTC (Cards to Consider) section, so feel free to do whatever you wish with this deck and my previous decks and I hope you found this helpful and I hope you all have a great day!

Summary: Go either first or second and try and get out any of the following Pokémon (Only Miraidon ex, Hands, and either Tynamo and Magnemite are mandatory):

- 1-2 Miraidon ex (You want to use Tandem Unit)

- 1 Magnemite or Tynamo

- 1 Iron Hands ex

- Latias ex

- Electrike (Optional, but if you want to get Mega Manectric ex out sooner).

- Squawkabilly ex

- Mew ex (Optional)

- Any other Pokémon of your choice.

Thinning out your deck to consistently get 1-2 Lightning Energies with Electric Generator is important for energy acceleration. You have many backup Attackers with Miraidon, Bloodmoon Ursaluna, Mew, Tapu Koko, and Zeraora being primary examples. You can combine Magneton exploding itself with Zekrom ex to deal additional damage.

Edits:

Edit #1: The changes that were made are as follows: Cut out Counter Gain, 1 Professor's Research, Pokégear, Maractus, Iron Bundle, and Zapdos ex. They've been replaced with Zeraora (DRI), Third Boss's Orders, 2nd Arven, Bravery Charm, FBEC, and a 2nd Academy at Night.

Edit #2: Made this the Phantasmal Flames build, cut 4 Carmine, Counter Catcher, and a random card (I don't remember). They've been replaced with a 1-1 Mega Manectric ex Line, Night Stretcher, and 2 more Arven.

I've returned yet again! Also, there are way too many cards that can be played with this deck which is what makes Miraidon ex so fun to play with! I hope you all have a good day and thank you all for your support, I greatly appreciate you all!

Pe7son avatar

Maybe you could cut Academy at Night for a Bravery Charm? And maybe add some Lillie's Determination when the website updates.

LimeLemon avatar

Pe7son I haven't really found Lillie's Determination useful in Miraidon ex due to how quickly you take KOs and even if you're going second, using Professor's Research would be ideal anyways. Also, Academy at Night is required because you need to have an option to get rid of your Opponent's Stadium Card, though cutting something else for a Bravery Charm could work which is why it's listed the in CTC section. Thank you for your feedback and I hope you have a good day!

Iplaylostbox avatar

what stadium would threaten this deck and why academy at night? Artazon (Paldea Evolved) would be better IMO

LimeLemon avatar

Iplaylostbox There's not many stadiums that counter Miraidon ex besides maybe TR's Watchtower or Jamming tower but it's just nice to have a stadium in this deck because it can also remove your Opponent's Stadiums like Forest of Vitality, Mystery Garden, Spikemuth Gym, etc. to prevent them from having a slight advantage. Also, Artazon only finds Basic Non-Rulebox Pokémon which can find Bundle, Tynamo, Maractus, and Magnemite but Tynamo and Magnemiye can be found via Miraidon's Tandem Unit and Nest Ball & Ultra Ball already finds Bundle and Maractus anyways. So using Artazon may save an Ultra Ball or Nest Ball, but it also does benefit your Opponent as well (most of the time). Also, Academy at Night is basically one of the few stadiums good for Miraidon ex as you can put a Lightning Energy from your Hand to the top card of your deck to always ensure you get at least 1 Energy from Electric Generator to save an Energy Attachment or if you have 2 Lightning Energies in Hand. Though, Town Store (with more tools added), Gravity Mountain, or Levincia could work instead. Though, Artazon could still be helpful. Anyways, thank you for your feedback!

I’m considering playing this deck seeing as I spent 50$ to build it when Miraidon came out and just haven't used the cards since. Should I play it?

LimeLemon avatar

Iplaylostbox Miraidon ex does quite well with the current decks in this current format, so I'd recommend to probably play Miraidon if you wanted to, but that's up to you on what deck you want to play.

Pe7son avatar

You should make a Mega Manectric deck

LimeLemon avatar

Pe7son Thank you for your suggestion, that deck will release sometime after I release my next deck (which may take a bit due to unrelated things I have to do). I hope you have a good day though!

LimeLemon avatar

This deck is a bit outdated as of now since I've been testing Miraidon ex a lot (due to it being my favorite deck), and I found that the Mega Manectric Line with Pikachu ex with Area Zero Underdepths seems to be better. It will be updated soon.

Pe7son avatar

Hey LimeLemon I just want to know what's your oldest deck?

LimeLemon avatar

Pe7son My oldest deck is my Venusaur ex deck from Traumatic (Prismatic) Evolutions.

Here's the link to it if you want to see or to avoid having to search for it (You might need to copy the link to open it): https://pokemoncard.io/deck/venusaur-ex-poison-box-deck-horrible-120319

LimeLemon avatar

I usually make newer versions instead of editing older decks to the most recent format, but I have decided to edit this deck to the current format as I haven't edited it like I had promised.
