Deck Primer

My first deck. A very upgraded version of the Ampharos ex battle box deck. Rotation F deck Still under a lot of work, plan to basically completely remake this later. Check my page.

Ampharos ex's role:

Ampharos is both a heavy deck investment and a reasonably heavy energy investment. 3 mareeps are in the deck not guarenteeing it will be an opening play though it should be an early one. With 3 rare candies it should be no issue getting out and jacq can search it out should you already have mareep

Ampharos ex's role:

Ampharos is both a heavy deck investment and a reasonably heavy energy investment. 3 mareeps are in the deck not guarenteeing it will be an opening play though it should be an early one. With 3 rare candies it should be no issue getting out and jacq can search it out should you already have mareep on your board and a candy in hand. Again, a heavy investment but it's thunderstrike tail does a crazy 240 damage should you discard two energy and a modest 140 if not. With the Zapdos combo (discussed below) It should be no issue softening up various benched mon and swinging hard with ampharos or Iron Hands ex without even having to discard energy. Should Amphy ex take some time to get out there are various other routes this deck can take until then.

Miraidon ex's role:

Miraidon's tandem unit is is invaluable to this whole decks success and acts as a powerful draw engine early on. With three miraidons you should meet her early on but if not you're likely to find a nest ball or draw into her naturally. Always nest ball into miraidon early game if you don't already have one. Once on the bench or in active miraidon can use tandem unit to search out two basic pokemon electric pokemon. This means if you didn't draw so hot you'll be able to tandem unit into another miraidon and one more pokemon. With that second miraidon you'll tandem unit again into whatever you need. Make sure to leave a slot on the board for the Zapdos hawlucha and penny combo (listed below). In addition for only a mid-game cost of three energies you can swing with Photon blaster for up to 220 damage. (Comparable to the ampharos though not necesarily better at all times) The only downside being miraidon wont be able to swing next turn but can still use tandem unit and retreat out for only one energy.

Zapdos, Hawlucha, & Pennys roles:

Zapdos is to replace the original Staraptor line with one concise bird pokemon that is in theme with the deck. This zapdos is weak to electricity instead of fighting type to mix up the potential double damage the rest of the deck could hypothetically get. Considered watrel & Kilowatrel initially for the one energy move skill dive. Skill dive however requires energy at all. While it does 50 damage it's a weak trade-off and a heavy deck investment. Instead to get that secondary effect for multishot lightning we're running halucha with it's ability flying entry which will do 20 damage to two of your opponents benched mon. With the extra space the kilowatrel combo would leave us and the fact that you don't have to invest any energy into hawlucha we get to run two Penny cards. Penny will allow us to pick back up hawlucha to essentially act as a chance to pull Hawlucha off the board and get another free 2 benched slaps without necesarily comitting multiple bench slots to hawlucha. Once damage is where it needs to be on the bench Zapdos does 120 to the opposing active mon and gets a free 90 damage to any benched pokemon with a counter on it.

Iron hands ex's role:

Iron hands does huge heavy damage. While each move is a larger investment for less damage it's long term potential is high. Essentially get it on the bench and don't touch it. In a best case scenario you allocate resources where you can and use electric generator to fuel it up faster without using your one energy per turn cost. In addition you slim your deck with Miraidon's tandem unit early game to make grabbing Future Booster energies easier.

As mentioned previously Zapdos's multishot lightning if effectively used can soften a lot of benched mon making them easy to knock out. The optimal play would be to swap out zapdos using it's voltaic float ability into a fully powered up Iron Hands ex's Amp You Very Much move which lets you draw an aditional prize card. (broken potentially?)

Tapu Koko ex's role:

Tapu koko is only really here for potential early game extreme currents and more importantly its vengeful shock move. Tapu koko is a low cost two energy machine. On the off-chance your haluwcha gets forced into active or you're forced to sacrifice it you can switch into Tapu Koko ex for a low cost 120 damaging move that guarentees a paralysis. If extreme current is used it does a whopping 180 damage but discards one energy. Between the Klara, Superior energy retreival, penny and others there should be reliable ways to get those energies back making this a move you can rely on early-mid game.
