This variant is probably surviving rotation. Gardevoir lost its damage output and you might need to be more reliant on control effects like Bannete Ex's item lock. That's also why Kirlia with memory skip, and forgoing Radiant Greninja for Radiant Alakazam. Using Gardevoir ex as repeatable energy acceleration, instead of crazy burst damage.
