Chesnaught sets itself apart from other Grass type attackers with its Needle Line ability, which can deal up to 120 damage to an attacking opponent - taking out annoying single prizers like Cramorant (Lost Origin) and Miraidon (Temporal Forces), messing up the prize trade for your opponent while being able to take OHKOs on multi-prizers after they've taken the damage (even Charizard ex, thanks to its unfortunate Grass weakness). While you could potentially use Arceus VSTAR to accelerate energy, Forretress's ability to build up multiple Chesnaught on turn 2 whilst leaving no liabilities on the bench and freeing up deck space that would have gone to Double Turbo energy makes it more appealing in my eyes.

While Forretress does give up two prizes, Chesnaught's whopping 330 HP with Hero's Cape attached means that most decks will be unable to OHKO it and this opens up more defensive plays with Iono and Counter Catcher. On top of Chesnaught's Touchdown healing it Switch Cart and Tsareena can help keep it healthy (and you could potentially run Champions Festival too, if you're some kind of millionaire). Mist Energy prevents Roaring Moon ex from OHKO-ing you, so that isn't a problem you'll have to face.

I originally tested with Mesagoza but felt Town Store with Seal Stone was a little better. It's possible that Buddy Buddy Poffin isn't the best either, and could potentially be replaced with Capturing Aroma which is able to grab Chesnaught, but I think the consistency of Poffin justifies its inclusion.
