Trying a new-ish idea here to make retreat cost for opponent as high as possible. Spidops ex (Scarlet & Violet) attack deals additional damage with your opponent's retreat cost.

Use Calamitous Wasteland (Paldea Evolved) to add retreat cost to all non-Fighting type. Spidops ex ability (even on the bench) adds additional retreat cost. Paldean Wooper (Paldea Evolved) can be used to find Stadium cards early on if you draw it instead of Tarountula (Scarlet & Violet).

Paldean Clodsire ex (Paldea Evolved)'s Ability on bench allows you to poison your opponent's active Pokemon every single turn. Best to keep it on the bench, but I've found it good to use against Spidops/Grass resistant opponents. Have Muk (Brilliant Stars) on the bench for additional retreat cost to poisoned Pokemon. Radiant Hisuian Sneasler (Lost Origin) on bench to deal extra poison damage every turn.

 

The Strategy

Ideal Active:
-- Spidops ex

Ideal Bench:
-- Bidoof (to draw to 5 cards)
-- Paldean Clodside (to poison every turn)
-- Muk (to add Retreat Cost of poisoned Pokemon)
-- Radiant Hisuian Sneasler (to deal extra damage to poisoned Pokemon on checkup)
-- Spidops ex (every Spidops ex on field adds 1 additional retreat cost to opponent)

This active + bench + a Calamitous Wasteland in play will have a minimum of 4 additional retreat cost for your opponent. This brings your active Spidops ex attack to 210 damage minimum.

Use Nest Ball (Scarlet & Violet) to find the Basic Pokemon you need to set this up. Using Jacq (Scarlet & Violet) and/or Capturing Aroma (Silver Tempest) to find evolution Pokemon (or additional Basic Pokemon if you flip Tails using Capturing Aroma).

Interesting concept, I might build it and try it out at locals to see how it goes

Neat idea! I'm not sold on the Carnivine part though. Requires you to start with it or dig it out early game and switch into it, use an attack for the turn on it. Starting with it in opening hand and getting your switch early sounds great, but I'd personally hate to whiff on it and have to spend a turn or two using resources to get it out and out of the way.

Maybe -2 carnivine and -2 something else for a 2-2 line of Clodsire Ex? You run 4 stadiums, and practically every deck runs 3-4 stadiums, so being able to poison with it's ability should be really easy- and you should be able to repeat the process should they get KO'd or switch out using an item. Whatever they send up, re-poison and continue the stall lock without having to send back out a carnivine!

CobaltX6 Really good insight! I made some edits based on your feedback and I do think you're right -- the Clodsire ex makes a HUGE difference here. Using a specific Paldean Wooper too that has "Find a Home" attack to let you search for a stadium in your deck. Good combo to get retreat-adding stadium into the game fast.
