A deck for a friend, themed around the Island Hermit and the old Holon cards and artwork. Chose the hermit because he has a similar moustache to Alolan Golem, and I imagined him like a character from an old game like Majora's mask, and the deck was built from there. The deck includes some local villagers from the town at the base of the mountain (two farmers, the innkeeper represented by Arezu, and his grand daughter represented by Daisy's Help, who happens to have a fittingly similar ability to the old hermit), befriended roaming legendaries like Tapu Koko and a Zapdos that show up to help in battle, and the Victini the old hermit has won the trust of. Also a mareep.

In terms of gameplay, the Alolan Golem has the ability to flip a coin until it flips tails, and to do 70x that in damage. With glimwood tangle, you can retry from the beginning once, and with Victini's Victory Star, you can re-flip one coin per turn for the attack. This means you can reflip with glimwood if you get tails, then reflip once more to extend your streak with Victini, and do a lot of damage for only one energy. It is a deck built around getting lucky on coin flips, and stacking the odds in your favour slowly. With no Rule Box pokemon, and with the Life Dew from the ancient sacred spring at the mountain's peak, you have effectively 7 Prize Cards. To make up for this, though, a few of the cards are purely there for thematic storytelling, like the rare sighting of Zapdos and the friendly wild Mareep the old man feeds.

Overall, it's a deck that's decently powerful as a boss battle against friends, uses a ton of ancient cards thematically from the old Johto and H***n days, and isn't perfectly optimised, but should be thematic and fun as a deck to use as printed-out stand-in cards. Have fun playing dice with the old hermit and his pet rock.
