Looks decent for a monkey trio deck. This won't do anything for you in a tournament, but it works fine as a kitchen table deck. I think you have too many energy, and should not run Jacq. 2 Arezu is plenty. You need 4 Buddy-Buddy Poffin and 4 Ultra Ball. I'd recommend thinking about what attacks might be most useful, and thinning out your energy and evolution lines to focus on those. If you are trying to make this deck more competitive you need an ACE SPEC and a Radiant. I think Radiant Charizard would be best unless you want to focus more on spread with Simipour in which case you'd use Radiant Alakazam.
But beyond the basics, it's your deck. If it were up to me, I'd remove a Simipour and Panpour and focus on stalling with Simisage, as many powerful Pokémon, mainly Charizard ex, have abilities. Your trainer cards feel random, just to draw and search, and it feels like you don't fully have an engine. I might add some more Professor's Research for that. Pokémon League Headquarters doesn't seem to have a specific purpose either, except to slow down Iron Hands ex, so it may be a worthy inclusion. Also, given the frailty and of your Pokémon, I'd add a third super rod.
For your engine I suggest that you focus on draw supporters like Professor's Research and rely more on Items to search out Pokémon. Anyways if you want any more of my opinions give me a ping.
@Tangent Hey! Thanks for the critique, I appreciate it. I don't intend to do tournaments, but I still like to observe the meta and have the knowledge of what cards are good in what situations. I love teaching others so I'd love to know what's happening.
What is your reason behind not including Jacq? It seemed like a good way to get my Simi evolutions to guarantee my trio ability is online, but is there something I'm missing? Also... what is an Ace Spec? 😂
I like the simisage stall idea! That's kind of a reason why the Pokémon League card is in the deck. If my monkeys ignore the colorless cost, that just makes that effect one sided in my favor. That was my thinking. I assure you, I have almost no knowledge of the big popular threats. There are no cards put in this deck that were put in with the intention of countering anything specific. 🫠
What do you suggest shifting around to create a better engine? I don't really know what that looks like so suggestions would be nice!
Thanks again for the critique, ping me back sometime! :)
Tangent I learned how to ping, so check my below comment! 🤣
Since you only are running basic pokemon with 70 hp or less, buddy buddy poffin is preferable to nest ball. To answer your questions below: Jacq isn't great since it only searches your deck for 2 pokemon as your turn's supporter. Most people would rather use ultra balls for searching for evolution and probably iono to draw cards (plus, Arezu is just better for this deck). Ace Specs are powerful cards (generally item cards, but they can be tools and stadiums too). Because they are powerful, you are limited to one Ace Spec card per deck. Since this is a stage 1 deck, Hyper Aroma (Twilight Masquerade) might be helpful.
I agree with everything that Fluffy Dragon said. This deck can never compete with the meta given its weakness to Iron Hands ex and its inability to keep up in the prize race with Ancient Box and the inability to deal with the flexibility of Regidrago decks. So you should probably focus on consistency to enjoy playing with friends. Pokemon League Headquarters doesn't do much, since it only affects basic pokemon. You should also use a Technical Machine: Crisis Punch, since colorless costs are ignored, you can use it for free to help close out a close game. I don't know what else to say, but I'll get back to you after you update the deck.
Tangent Fluffy Dragon Updated the deck with some of your suggestions, thanks for all the help. :) I'm more concerned with my first deck being fun to play with friends anyways, as opposed to being the most cracked thing in existence. Any other suggestions to be made here? Supporter card switches, or cards to help deal with the threats you mentioned?
Radiant Charizard is a Basic Pokémon so you don't need Charmander and Charmeleon. You also don't necessarily need it, so I'd do some tests first. I think 4 Luminous is essential, and maybe some Artazon. You could then play Colress's Tenacity to search for Luminous or whatever. A Switch would also help with the flexibility of the deck in case of a bad setup. A Fezandipiti ex could also work better for draw support than Bibarel in this deck, since you get KOed a lot, and it's easier to search. But this is looking pretty good!
I agree with almost everything Tangent said, but you do have to worry about Fezandipiti ex being gusted if you use it.
