This is an optimized version of my Hydreigon "control" deck I made a couple days ago, so most of what I say there can be applied here. https://pokemoncard.io/deck/competitive-hydreigon-control-119210

This updated version leans less into the control aspect. Despite still running Vileplume, it's necessary to have to keep your stage 2 lines from getting plucked as easily, and it's another stage 2 to help trigger Super Boost Energy. I also included Silent Lab to turn off the abilities

This updated version leans less into the control aspect. Despite still running Vileplume, it's necessary to have to keep your stage 2 lines from getting plucked as easily, and it's another stage 2 to help trigger Super Boost Energy. I also included Silent Lab to turn off the abilities of Bench Barrier Pokemon such as Mew, Manaphy, and Mr. Mime, allowing Obsidian to attack the bench much more freely. And thoughh it greatly depends on the matchup, you can toss Silent Lab out on the first turn and throw off your opponent. You'll be unaffected because Bunnelby's Omega Barrage is an Ancient Trait, and not an Ability. Personally, I like to hold it as a surprise tool once your opponent gets comfortable in believing their bench barrier is keeping them safe.

On the topic of stadiums, depending on your preferences, you can also include Black Market or Grand Tree, although the latter comes at the cost of not being able to use Neo Upper Energy. However, you can use the much more situational Counter Energy in its place. You can also see if you can fit Lusamine or in rarer cases Roseanne's Backup for recovery.

While this list isn't the same as the one in the tutorial video, it's similar enough and should give a good idea on how to play the deck. Luckily, you don't need to understand Japanese to understand what's going on!

What an awesome list! A newbie at our league brought this list to his first tournament and went 4-0, earning a well deserved 1st place.
