Pauper Kingbee

Something I thought seemed fun. No clue if its good or not. Ribombee (Temporal Forces)  is there to get extra prize cards in a format where all pokemon give 1 prize. Sadly the attack from Ribombee only does 30 damage and the magic number we're looking for is 40. There were a few ways to get there. Theres Practice Studio (Paldea Evolved) which allows your stage 1 Pokemon to do 10 more damage but that didn't seem too great since Ribombee is your only stage 1 plus there are multiple ways

Sadly the attack from Ribombee only does 30 damage and the magic number we're looking for is 40. There were a few ways to get there. Theres Practice Studio (Paldea Evolved) which allows your stage 1 Pokemon to do 10 more damage but that didn't seem too great since Ribombee is your only stage 1 plus there are multiple ways to remove stadiums. Another was Vitality Band (Scarlet & Violet) which allows all pokemon that the card is attached to to do 10 more damage. Already it sounds way better since Arven (Scarlet & Violet) is such a good card. Another way we get there is by doing spread damage. I thought of maybe trying Absol (Astral Radiance) but the Darkness energy just didnt feel right with Kingambit (Obsidian Flames) needing 1 Metal energy for the attack that we're going to mainly use. I decided to go with Emolga (Twilight Masquerade) since it can use any energy to spread damage, however, the downside to Emolga is that it also damages your bench for 10 damage as well. The generic energy cost plus free retreat won over in the end. The final part of this deck is the Kingambit (Obsidian Flames) I mentioned earlier. Strike Down is an attack that knocks out any pokemon that has 4 or more counters on it. Ribombee (Temporal Forces) 's 30 damage + the extra 10 + Kingambit (Obsidian Flames) 's attack = 3 prize cards in 2 turns. Chances are you wont get the perfect set up by turn 2 but if you open everything you need your opponent will be on the backfoot really fast. I will be building this deck irl soon and hope to see some success with it. I'm sure people have already done this and I'm sure there decks are a lot better than mine but I hope you enjoyed anyway.

(I have just returned to the tcg thanks to my daughter being interested and it rekindled my fun for the game. I stopped playing shortly after GX cards came out because at that time Mega pokemon were my favorite and they were completely replaced by much stronger cards that didn't require a tool card to properly evolve. Now that I'm back I'm having more fun building budget/Pauper decks to play since I can easily purchase many different decks and share them with my daughter and friends.
