Deck Primer

This deck is still in testing, trying to decide if Neo Upper Energy or Prime Catcher is the way to go. Both are very helpful card with this deck...wish I could use both. :(

Anyway, set up using the Pidgey/Zard route with Rotom. This combo let's you keep strong hand counts and at the same time set up Rare Candy Feraligatrs very consistently. Doing 280 damage with a 1-prizer beats almost anything you'll come across except Zard. I tried Maximum Belt in the deck a lot, and it was really only useful

Anyway, set up using the Pidgey/Zard route with Rotom. This combo let's you keep strong hand counts and at the same time set up Rare Candy Feraligatrs very consistently. Doing 280 damage with a 1-prizer beats almost anything you'll come across except Zard. I tried Maximum Belt in the deck a lot, and it was really only useful for the Zard matchup only.

But once you hit with Gatr for 280, next turn your goal is to always search out a TM, Switch or Prof. Turo with Arven, Pidgeot, or Irida. Because you can't use Giant Wave twice in a row, use the TM to set up another Gatr with Turbo Energize, or go Devolution (for Zard and Chien Pao) OR go Switch/Turo into another Gatr and hit again. Pidgeot is always a free retreat option. Pidgeot also lets you consistently take 2 prizes by searching out Boss or Counter Catcher each time too.

Crisis Punch is in there too as another way to hit for 280 if you can't use Giant Wave late-game, just need the extra energy attchment; and with Feraligatr you can even boast Crisis Punch to 400 damage with its ability! Radiant Charizard with Luminous Energy also lets you have another win condition late-game, and a different type coverage especially if you're playing against Iron Hands. And then use the same strategy with TMs or Switch after on Rad Zard. Basically everything is trying to optimize single-prize attackers the entire time.

Turbo Hands is your worst match-up due to weakness. If you don't respond immediately, you will most likely lose. But again, Pidgeot should let you do that by searching out a Boss right away and KOing the Iron Hands (just be sure to Vacuum off the Heavy Baton too if you can)! So far, this deck is the best way I have found to consistently play Feraligatr!
