Deck Primer

Full setup is like 1 Pikachu at the Active and 2~3Flaaffy + 1~2Cinccino + 1 Pikachu on bench, we need to retreat almost every turn in the mid/late game so we can use Cinccino/Marnie/Prof. Research to look for Air Balloon/Switch. We can also use Cinccino to discard Lightning Energy for Flaaffy to use its ability. We also have Stormy Mountains to look for Basic Pokemon so too many Quick Balls could easily go waste. Comment below on how to improve this deck, thanks!

I think Cheryl would be a great addition if you could find room - maybe toss the Brunos for a Cheryls? Bruno doesn't seem super useful bc your opponent isn't taking kos every turn against a vmax. I'd also maybe cut the two energy search and put in speed lightning energy instead

@JonoBono You're right Cheryl could really fit this deck! I added Bruno for more options to have a new hand. Speed energy is also useful but I think Energy Search is more versatile, because we can also use it to take basic energy out and discard it for Flaaffy's Ability.

I am wondering if 8 basic lightning energies are enough for this deck? What would you take out if i wanted to put 10 energies into this deck?

@mollie4545 Yes 8 basic energies would be very enough for this deck, if you're able to get your 1st energy, just use Charge on Pikachu and don't worry about getting knocked out, cause we can use Flaaffy to slowly charge them back in the early game. But if I were to add 2 more energies, I would remove 1 Flaaffy and 1 Boss's Orders/Cheryl, let me know again if you have any thoughts!

I've just updated the list, also a reflection on what I commented below. Me and my gf use this deck and won 21 out of 33 games so I would say it is really consistent.

Oh nice update! I've noticed you removed both Cheryls and a Raihan, I am wondering do you get to use Raihan during the game often? Given its condition to use. And cheryl is gone because you are not worried about Vmax pikachu getting knocked out? Haha its hard to find those two copies of speed lightning energy because hardly anyone bought rebel clash

1) Raihan is very helpful when we don't have enough Flaaffys ready on bench and sometimes we might need to charge an extra energy for active pokemon too. In most games our first Pikachu will get knocked out easily(after using Charge), so having it to search any 1 card from the deck is very useful for us to search out cards like Switch and Air Balloon to ensure we can safely retreat after Pikachu Vmax discarded all energies. 2) Of course we still need to worry about Pikachu Vmax getting knocked out! But through the games I played I realised it is very rare to have an injured Pikachu Vmax while also having a Cheryl in my hand at the same time, that's why I removed this card, but it's still useful though! If I were to add a Cheryl back, I might swap out a Quick Ball/Speed Energy for that. Well you can try basic energies instead of Speed Energy and see how the deck works for you, Speed Energy has some drawbacks in this deck though because they can't be charged back using Flaaffy's Ability.

Oh thanks for the insights! I am thinking of switching out Tapu Koko V for Regieleki from evolving skies for some bench sniping, wondering how it will work out.
Zex avatar
@mollie4545 I haven't try Regieleki in this deck yet, but if we were to bench sniping a retreated injured VMAX (most VMAX are 320HP and Pikachu VMAX deals 270 at most), it's very likely they have 50HP left and Regieleki only deals 40 damage to bench, so if Regieleki can at least survive 1 more turn after using its attack then surely it could be a big deal for your opponent!
Zex avatar
Also the Tapu Koko V is here because of its free retreat cost, so whenever our active Pikachu gets knocked out we can have Tapu Koko V goes to the active spot and use Flaffy to charge our new pikachu at the bench, and it can also be a secondary attacker. If we can't get Switch or Air Balloon on our hands, we can use Stormy Mountains and Quick Balls to search out Tapu Koko V ready for a free retreat next turn (if you know they're going to knock out your active Pikachu).

I was wondering, in the early game, would you prioritize the Flaaffy or Cinccino? Maybe given the scenario that you already have a charge-d Pikachu in play>
Zex avatar
I'll prioritize Flaaffy if I already have another Pikachu on bench( or when I'm sure I'll be able to get one next turn), if not then I'll probably go for Cinccino.
