Deck Primer

This is a Fighting-type deck that uses Primeape and Marowak for heavy damage. Hitmonlee is included to K.O. any Pokémon that retreated from the Active Spot or chip away at Benched Pokémon so that their HP can be at 100 or below (110 if Giovanni is in your hand). With Primeape needing a Damage Counter to deal +60 damage to its base 40, you can hit for 100+10 damage if you use Giovanni. Marowak ex is an alternative attacker that can be used to hit for 160 damage if you flip two heads, meaning that you can K.O. a Mewtwo ex or any Pokémon with 160 HP and below.

This deck can battle the meta, though you do need some luck due to the format's reliance on Coin Flip-based attacks and effects. If there are bad matchups for this deck, it will be from Lapras ex (due to healing + Misty), Mewtwo ex (due to Psychic weakness), and Venusaur ex (due to healing + 190 HP meaning Primeape cannot OHKO), but as long as you get your opponent's Pokémon to 100 or less HP, you can swing for the K.O. with a damaged Primeape to win the game!

For this deck, you may need to go second, but you can win going first as long as you protect your Primeape and/or have the opponent attack in case the Promo-A Mankey's attack could end up leading to a K.O. from your opponent's Pokémon.

Some other tech options can include a 1-1 50 HP and 60 HP Mankey or a Potion instead of a Red Card, but you are free to adjust the deck in any way that you see fit.

Other deck adjustments could be a second Marowak ex replacing a Sabrina or Red Card or maybe 2 Potions replacing those two cards. I still believe that Hitmonlee might be too necessary of a tech card to cut since people can retreat their 30- HP Pokémon exs, plus I am a pro-Hitmonlee person, he needs stronger cards in the normal TCG format. The one-point Marowak has 100 HP to tank a Pikachu ex full Bench 90 damage, but that is if they do not have Giovanni. Hope this deck can be used as a blueprint for your Fighting-type deck!
