SGLC (Semi or Sorta Gym Leader Challenge) is a Singleton format, no Rule box Pokémon, and cards after Sun & Moon can be used for this format as well. SGLC doesn't have type restrictions like GLC, so using mix types is encouraged to cover weaknesses. (Also a much more affordable way to play)

This deck is a unique deck that allows for challenging yet rewarding payoffs in a colorful way. Most SGLC decks that are easier to pilot only include 1 type of basic energy perhaps even two types of basic energy, but this deck has 5 different types of Basic Energy being Grass, Lightning, Metal, Psychic and Water.

Alcremie is the face of the deck having a dual purpose of big hitter and energy engine with the ability Additional Order that pairs well with Cafe Master. By attaching a different type of Basic Energy to up to 3 of the player's benched Pokemon, Alcremie can hit a damage high of 210 should there be all types of energies in play. This will every Pokemon in format (exception of Wailord from Crown Zenith) without a Pot Helmet or ability reducing damage like Wailord from Silver Tempest. It's great trait is that there aren't specific energies required for its attack and with only 90 HP it can be found using level ball to evolve Milcery early game. While it is the face of the deck, the other main energy engine/big hitter is Blastoise from PokemonGO. Using Irida support on a Squirtle, Blastoise can provide heavy yet specific energy attachment once it is in play with the cost of not attacking during the turn. Blastoise can build itself up using the 4 water energies to give itself a 210 damage attack or spread it out to the other powerful Amazing Rare attackers. Raikou and Kyogre are the preferred attackers in the deck as their spread damage can take multiple prize cards at once leaving your opponent crippled for your other attackers to clean up. Raikou's Amazing Shot should be a priority to use in game as it can take 2 knock outs with only 3 energy attachments. This incredible attack is a great trade off for its less than stellar HP of just 110. Kyogre is a behemoth that can win games with just 2 attacks that go off. There are few Pokemon that have 170 HP and above and the resources lost would be devastating and basically game winning. It is a great example of a glass cannon with disgustingly strong power while being on the frailer side of 120 HP. As a bonus Kyogre can be found with Irida. Both of these Pokemon should be a priority when it comes to beating your opponent. Zacian is the final Amazing Rare Pokemon that can do big 150 damage while having an attack that attaches energy from the discard pile should it be lacking some. Kecleon is another frail glass cannon that can take advantage of its ability to become any type of Basic Energy that is attached to it. All Pokemon weak to Dark, Fighting and Fire avoid a strong 180 damage attack utilizing Weakness on the opponent's Active Pokemon. Grass, Lightning, Steel, and (most)Psychic types are spared from a super effective spinning attack, but all other types have a chance of being hit with big damage from the 90 HP type shifter.

The big hitters are quite important, but would be nothing without the energy engines. Alcremie and Blastoise were touched on earlier serving dual purposes, but Xerneas and Leafeon provide great energy attachement with much less requirements. Xerneas can be found using the fog crystal and can dish out solid 100 damage should it no longer be required for energy attachment. Leafeon can do the same for only 1 colorless energy. It can do a solid 120 damage, but should be used sparingly as it would not be able to attack the next turn. The benefit is that its pre-evolution eevee can quickly evolve with Energy Evolution as long as a Grass energy is attached to it, giving it a guaranteed Energy Garden on the same turn as it evolves.

Going along with the Rainbow theme the Rainbow Brush, Rainbow Energy, and Aurora Energy are great supports. The Rainbow Brush is a situational tool that allows player's to correct an early game energy misplacement. The early game is where energies may be attached to the wrong Pokemon, but with Rainbow Brush the player can search for the correct energy to make the big knockout. Kecleon's ability changes its type ONLY with Basic Energies, so a Rainbow/Aurora Energy will not have the same affect to do super effective damage to the opponent. With Rainbow Brush you can take advantage of precious energy attachment opportunities while still having flexibility to change energies attached to a Pokemon. Rainbow Energy is great for the Amazing Rare Pokemon that have specific energy requirements.

Wishful Baton and Exp Share are great tools for energy conservation when specific energy requirements are an absolute necessity when it comes the Rainbow Deck. This deck is not an S tier deck as it is quite difficult to pilot. but once the code is cracked it can make for satisfying win.
