This is mostly against meta like Zard and other speed decks, as you can use Fossil Quarry and Grand Tree to quickly get Bastiondon and Rampardos out, and Bastiodon just makes Mega Zard fall apart, as all its attacks cot like 2 energy, while you have all the time in the world using Rampardos to destroy your opponent. And if you go up against a non-meta deck that uses cards like crispin to get 3 energy on your Pokemon quickly, you can use Rampardos's Ability to get rid of that energy and frustrate

Mega Zard isn't meta and they can easily get 3 energy on their Zard anyway. Also, having to play 2 fossil lines is rough, even with Fossil Quarry. And don't trust me on this because I'm not sure, but I think Grand Tree doesn't work on fossils. A fossil card states "Play this card *as if* it were a 60HP Basic Pokemon. That means it's not a Pokemon. That's why you can't get it off of Poffin either. Lastly, about Iris's Fighting Spirit... It's literally just a worse Morty's Conviction.
