Deck Primer

Use Frosmoth to power Lapras up so you can tear their bench apart. Then play Echoing Horn to do it all again. Zangoose functions as an active Pokemon targeting beatstick that also provides a multitarget bench snipe that can KO most Single Prize Basics that evolve with the help of Gapejaw Bog. Prism Star Volcanion makes sure that no Pokemon is safe in the active and even contributes to the mounting spread damage with its own attack.

Use Frosmoth to power Lapras up so you can tear their bench apart. Then play Echoing Horn to do it all again. Prism Star Volcanion makes sure that no Pokemon is safe in the active and even contributes to the mounting spread damage with its own attack.

Zangoose can land a solid 50 before dying, so you can promote a Lapras after it dies, discard a Water Energy with Volcanion and hit the now benched and weakened Pokemon for 100 damage, which takes care of any single prizer excluding Stage 2s, which is why it's important to weaken them with Gapejaw Bog. Radiant Greninja is there because it pairs well with Volcanion since this deck runs 3 copies of Energy Retrieval.

Gapejaw Bog will put Manaphy within KO range of Zangoose if it gets yanked into the active.

Not intended to fight Multi-Prizers.

This deck has no answer to any form of a Bench Barrier. The strategy is also fairly slow, so you will often find yourself falling behind on the prize trade, even if you're playing against a single-prize deck without a bench protector. Cool idea, just needs some work on the execution.

CountyGibbon798 What would you suggest I swap out to improve it?

FireAnt111 When attempting to have suggestions made, I keep coming back to rule box Pokémon, something this deck doesn't want to play, right? If that's the case, you can probably turn this into a Gym Leader Challenge deck, where rule boxes aren't allowed anyways.

CountyGibbon798  If I were to use Rule Box Pokemon, what would I change?

FireAnt111 Rapid strike is a hard archetype to work with in expanded, as it usually involved filling your bench, but most great expanded decks run a core of Tapu Lele-GX (Guardians Rising), Crobat V (Darkness Ablaze), and Dedenne-GX (Unbroken Bonds). Usually ran as 1:1:2 respectively. They exist there to provide consistency, and if you dump your whole hand, you can get the cards back. You also need to prepare for a ton of matchups in expanded, so there are many tech options. I'm not the best when it comes to expanded, so I'd suggest referring to Deseus | Legacy of Wrath for 'real' advice. You can also check out their decks, as they're heavily informative and can give you a good idea of what the expanded meta looks like to a degree.

CountyGibbon798 I probably won't be taking this to a tournament, but this is good advice nonetheless! I'll definitely check out their decks! I could cut the Siebold for 2 Tapu Lele GX since I need the Boss. Also I can probably cut an Energy Retrieval for a Dedenne GX. The 4 Super Rod will do its job well enough.

Deseus | Legacy of Wrath Any advice on modifying this deck to speed it up? Not exactly concerned with top tier decks, just helping it deal with bench barriers and increasing set up speed.
