SGLC (Semi or Sorta Gym Leader Challenge) is a Singleton format, no Rule box Pokémon, and cards after Sun & Moon can be used for this format as well. SGLC doesn't have type restrictions like GLC, so using mix types is encouraged to cover weaknesses. (Also a much more affordable way to play)

This deck is a Rapid Strike with a heavy focus on Water type Pokémon that also attack the bench. Inteleon is the main attacker that puts pressure on the opponents bench with Quick Shooting. This ability is one of the most important to put damage onto the opponent and weaken the bench before they can be knocked out by your Active. Rapid Strike Urshifu deals the biggest damage with up to 180 with Rapid-Fisted Rush as long as there are 5 other Pokémon on the bench. Cloyster is another great Bench attacker. It deals 30 damage  to two of the opponent's bench while also dealing 60 to the Active Pokémon. Its Shell Armor abilityn also gives it more survivability. Zangoose can also deal 50 damage to 2 of the opponent's Bench as long as a Rapid Strike Supporter card is played on the turn Gale Claws is used. Starmie is the last Pokémon that can knock out or damage the opponent's Bench Pokémon with Multistar Shot. By discarding any number of Water Energy, it can deal 30 damage for each energy. This could mean knocking out multiple Pokémon at once given enough chip damage was on them before. This Pokémon should typically be used to close out games as opposed to using it when more Prize cards remain.

Marshadow and Weavile both utilize Rapid Strike Hunt and Nasty Plot respectively to search for two cards (Marshadow's Rapid Stike Hunt is specific to Rapid Strike cards while Weavile's Nasty Plot can grab any two). Your supporting Pokémon are Milotic and Octillery. Milotic's Dew Guard prevents the effects of the opponent's Supporter cards from affecting your bench and hand. This is excellent for preventing Marnie, Boss's Order and Guzma from disrupting your play. Octillery's Rapid Strike Search allows for 1 Rapid Strike card to be picked from the deck.

Ultra Ball and Quick Ball are used over Timer Ball and Nest Ball in order to thin the hand in order to use Rapid Strike Mustard. This will put a Rapid Strike Pokémon from discard pile onto the Bench (if there is space) and then you can draw 5 cards. This is great for making a late comeback should the big hitters get knocked out or discarded early. Swift raft is a great switch card that also heals the Water Pokémon that comes from the Active slot onto the Bench.  Tower of Water allows all Rapid Strike Pokémon to switch for 2 Colorless Energies (this applies to all the Rapid Strike Pokémon) essentially giving all a free switch. Finally Escape Rope and Guzma moves the players Active to the Bench as well as the opponent's. Brawly is a Gloria that can be called by Octillery's ability Rapid Strike Search. Korinna allows you to draw cards until you have 6 in your hand. Siebold is another healing supporter that can be used should Zangoose want to use Gale Claws to its full potential.
