Shaymin VSTAR has already been a decent card, potentially hitting 320 damage for two energies. Unfortunately it struggles with a low damage output in the early game, and thus often can't function as a main attacker and at best makes a decent comeback card. The new Dusknoir line, however, can both set up damage on the opponent to remedy Shaymin's lower damage output and force the opponent to take a prize - allowing you to hit

Shaymin VSTAR has already been a decent card, potentially hitting 320 damage for two energies. Unfortunately it struggles with a low damage output in the early game, and thus often can't function as a main attacker and at best makes a decent comeback card. The new Dusknoir line, however, can both set up damage on the opponent to remedy Shaymin's lower damage output and force the opponent to take a prize - allowing you to hit maximum damage with 5 prize cards taken.

Ogerpon alongside Energy Switch lets you easily set up Shaymin in a single turn, and can also function as a powerful attacker itself on your first turn going second. Using Night Stretcher over Super Rod allows you to put a Grass energy into the hand immediately to attach to Ogerpon (or to cycle Iron Bundle, which can force annoying Regidrago VSTAR out of the active spot to take a KO on the opponent's Ogerpon).

Because Star Bloom is a pretty useless VSTAR power, Forest Seal Stone allows the basic Shaymin V to grab important cards - notably Dusknoir or Rare Candy to evolve Duskull.
