Ever since Roaring Moon ex was teased to promote the Paradox Rift expansion, I was sure I wanted to get it and give it a try in the expanded format, after all, when would straight up KOing your opponent's active pokémon not be relevant? The moment I found out the Protection Cube Tool card existed and got a playset of it, I knew there was plenty to make this deck work. I made this list and tried it out with a friend, making minor changes from the initial one, and it's already given me a 2nd

I made this list and tried it out with a friend, making minor changes from the initial one, and it's already given me a 2nd place at a local tournament, so I felt like sharing it with you! (Update: The list's been proven to work, I've reached many podiums and even a 1st place on local events.)

The deck uses the format's turbo engine or "Fantastic Four" (Squawkabilly ex -> Dedenne GX -> Crobat V -> Tapu Lele GX) to set up, having Sada's Vitality and Dark Patch to accelerate energy from the discard, Janine's Secret Art to do the same from the deck, Battle Compressor and Pokéstop to get the needed resources in hand and/or discard (making the deck an item-heavy list, which can make Bunnelby-Lock and Budew in general troublesome), Darkrai ex to turn every Pokémon into a pivot (Pecharunt ex is a valid choice, but I don't like the idea of leaving roaring moon poisoned in the active spot, and so is Latias ex, though, you can't pull Dark Patch or Janine plus Energy Switch antics with it), and Galarian Moltres V to turn all the Energy Switch into dark patches (as well as working both as secondary attacker in one hand, and possible Forest Seal Stone user alongside Crobat V in the other).

As for the rest of cards, it's either the expanded toolkit (Guzma for gusting and pivoting, iono as your hand disruption and prevent a bricked start, Karen to annoy Regidrago VSTAR, though, it can be changed for Pokémon Ranger to cleanse ADP's Altered Creation alongside other pesky effects like Vikavolt V or Budew's attack-based item lock, field blower for Path To The Peak or Garbotoxin, and a playset of VS Seeker to reutilize supporters from the discard), or stuff to get your resources (Adventure Bag for Protection Cube, Forest Seal Stone and Float Stone; Quick Ball and Battle VIP Pass to get any of the deck's -all basic- pokemon, Lana's Fishing Rod to get back a Roaring Moon ex and it's Protection Cube once KO'd) and the ACE SPEC of choice is Prime Catcher for gusting even while having played a supporter in a turn (or getting an annoying Wobbuffet/Iron Thorns ex out of the active spot).
