Deck Primer

Cinderace Box? Sure why not.

Recently a kid at my store asked me to make a deck with Cinderace as the lead. My initial thought was to just do a worse Charizard EX, switching the Dusk line with the Blaziken line, to get around the weird energy cost sitaution. That stinks, however, and my personal proclivity for both 1 Prize focused decks and Weakness Sniping got a hold of me. Now, we're here.

Hydreigon as a supportive pokemon is kinda fun, and leans into Fire's self-mill tendencies. Truthfully, I've thought about going in further on something like Infernape, but that's a different plate of cookies for a different cup of milk.

How to play!

The goal of this is to get Cinderace fully equipped with a Dark, Fighting, and Fire energy. That means evolving a Scorbunny all the way to Cinder, through either the traditional method, using a Rare Candy on it, or using your Ace Spec, Grand Tree. You also can use these three methods of evolution on Deino, to get it to a Hydreigon.

Hydreigon's good, cause it's a way to getcha tons of energy. By discarding the top 3 from your deck, it lets you put any energy you hit onto the field, directly on any 'mons. You can guarentee that you hit things with Ciphermaniac's Codebreaking, or with Academy at Night. That one's especially good, cause there's no way your opponent's gonna be on a similar strategy. That stadium's all but useless on them! The other ways to get energy is with Mela, which also draws you cards, or with Turbo Energize.

Now, you might be thinking "But there's only one copy of that in my deck! How can I possibly find it when I need it?", to which I say, not to worry! That's what Arven, Noctowl, and Colress are there for. All of them can do basically anything. The only limitation here is with Noctowl's restriction, of already needing a Tera pokemon on the field. THANKFULLY! You're playing Hoopa! Which can punch for a bunch, whenever you need it to.

This is all a very convoluted way of me patting myself on the back. In spite of the thousand ways to get to the goal, this is all the same shot; Make a big rabbit and kick them very hard. So, lemme put a few reminders out there!

- Cinderace has a 0 cost retreat! That means you can switch it out if it's ever in danger, or if you want to alternate them hitting Flare Strikes.
- This deck currently doesn't have any Bosses Orders, or Counter Catchers. You can KIND of get around this, with Garnet Volley doing 180 to the bench, but that's still something to watch out for.
- Pay attention to weaknesses! You technically have attackers in both Dark, Fighting, and Fire, so pay close attention and make the most of that double damage.
- Can't tell for sure if this is a good deck, yet, but I truly believe it is a Fun deck. Hopefully, that's enough.
