This decks works around Gengar (Generations)'s Creep Show attack. You want to start the game with Gastly (Unbroken Bonds) in the active spot and (if possible) attach Horror Psychic Energy (Rebel Clash) and Spell Tag (Lost Thunder)to it. This decks works around Gengar (Generations)'s Creep Show attack. You want to start the game with Gastly (Unbroken Bonds) in the active spot and (if possible) attach Horror Psychic Energy (Rebel Clash) and Spell Tag (Lost Thunder)to it. This will put some damage in your opponent's active Pokémon while switching on Counter Energy (Crimson Invasion) and allowing you to evolve Haunter (Crimson Invasion) into Gengar right after the knockout. If your Haunters are prized, you can always use Rare Candy (Sun & Moon) to evolve Gastly into Gengar.

Quick note (Because many people have this doubt): If Gastly is your only Pokémon in play, you won't lose the game when it's knocked out. Its Swelling Spite ability works as and effect of your opponent's attack knocking it out, so you'll be able to get one or both Haunters and put them in play and place one of them in the Active Spot. And since you'll start your turn with a Haunter in play, this will allow you to evolve it into Gengar.

If you don't have Counter Energy, Dimension Valley (Phantom Forces) will allow you to knock out your opponent's active using a single energy. 

Sometimes you won't have Spell Tag or your opponent's active will have only two counters from the Horror Energy. That's where the combo Roxie (Cosmic Eclipse) + Blow-Away Bomb (from both Koffing (Cosmic Eclipse) and Weezing (Cosmic Eclipse)) comes into place. It'll allow you to draw 6 cards (Exeggcute (Plasma Freeze) will help you with that) while placing at least 1 damage counter on all of your opponent's Pokémon.

Ideally, you want to place some damage counters on your opponent's active when Gastly is knocked out. Then you wanna Roxie Weezings and control some damage with the latest addition Radiant Alakazam (Silver Tempest). If your opponent's high prize Pokémon is in the bench, Gengar's free retreat + Guzma (Burning Shadows) will take care of it.

Overall, this deck is really fun to pilot and when your opponents realize the deck's strategy they will dread even the existence of a single Gastly in the bench.
