This deck has gone through many revisions (thats why their is so many updates) because I consistently identify and correct its flaws. If you have any recommendations or suggestions for improvement, please leave them in the comments below. Thank you! 😊

I played a similar deck last week at my locals, save I used Froslass instead of Volcarona. I also did not use spikey energy, which is brilliant, and I wish I had thought of that.

To me, I think Grand Tree is more benificial to your opponent, as you only really have Scolipede that needs to evolve quickly. I admit I didn't know what ACE to use myself, so used Unfair Stamp. I could see if you had more than one Risky Ruins, or more Stadiums, to remove the instant stage 2 advantage magic broccoli gives you, after you use it. I also used Psychic as my second energy, which allowed my Munki to Mind Bend. Confusion can be quite powerful, and has saved my butt many times.

To be honest, my main problem at locals was getting energy on my Scolipede fast enough to start knocking opponent pokemon out with Froslass and Munki, before Mega Greninja and Dragapult could snipe my bench.

Yeah I have had the same problem when playing at my house I just don't know how to get the energy out fast enough, and I saw and thought about using the Frosslass but thats only for pokemon with abilitys so I felt it was kind of risky. I also don't know of any other ACE SPECs... Maybe a Presious Trolly or something or like you said Unfair Stamp. But maybe we (Both of us 😭) can try to find a way to make this deck REALLY good. 🤷

Maybe running 3 Janine's Secret Art and maybe some energy switches can be a good energy combo?

crispin seems like a must here. maybe rosa's encouragement? counter gain? toxtricity?

i'd really question whether the the zoroark is in any way necessary. it's a high energy cost for a very niche usecase that does not synergize with your main strategy (dastardly jab + burn) at all, and it is taking up 4 cards in your deck. if i were you, i'd swap toxtricity instead to solve your energy issues (meaning you could remove the energy searches too) and slot in a pecharunt ex for easy swaps (tatsugiri would also be nice w/ pecharunt + air balloon).

risky ruins also isn't doing much for you. dastardly jab always drops to 10 HP, so chipping 20 damage ahead of time with risky ruins is valueless. i'd run prism tower for some much needed draw power.

in the same vein as risky ruins, i think that munkidori is also pretty much useless here. most decks in this meta will OHKO your scolipede if they get the chance. and if you do get the chance to move counters, you're still hitting the same uselessness as risky ruins -- it doesnt matter how many counters your opponent's active has on it if dastardly jab is always reducing them to 10 HP anyway. and you're not bench sniping here, certainly not with just munkidori. even worse, you still need to attach energy to munkidori in order to use its ability, and energy is already at a premium in this deck, given that scolipede needs 2 for dastardly jab and volcarona needs an energy attach as well. 100% not worth imo.

you definitely want 4 pokepads.

precious trolley seems weird here. you're running 2 petrel to (i assume) try and get it out consistently which is far less efficient than simply running poffins. i would try unfair stamp or prime catcher or max rod (you'll be taking a lot of KOs) and poffins instead.

spiky energy is a good idea but it does require your attach per turn. worth considering spiky or rocky helmet instead.

Wow ok... So first I was thinking about the toxtricity today so I was going to add that and I am running the Zoroak as a side attacker because sometimes you run out of scolipedes or your opponet runs a mist energy so its nice to have that side attacker but I think you are right I can switch those out for toxtricity. Also I could use the munki dori to move the damage around from the sinister surge. I agree with the 4 pokepad for sure though and I kind of hate this but I'm running a precious Trolley because venipede has 80 HP and The Poffins only get pokemon with 70 HP or less. And whats the difference from attaching a spikey energy for turn and a normal dark enegry beside the fact your opponet could use enhanced?

lol my b total brainfart on the poffins.

yeah toxtricity can be a good side attacker or you can do a 1x of BLK scolipede to get around mist (but enhanced hammer would probably be best in most cases)

spiky does satisfy the colorless cost but you would have an easier time using tox to power up and saving your attach for volcarona. yes, it may work sometimes but you can achieve the same effect via tools (spiky/rocky helmet) without worrying about energy economics

Rockblade14 =) avatar

What should I switch the Spikey Energy for? 2 Enhanced or another 2 dark energy?

erg avatar

definitely better. you dont need all those energy searches though, i'd replace them with crispins and replace the recycler with another night stretcher.

3x fire energy is also likely enough here.

if you want petrel/trolley more consistently i'd add 1x meowth ex as well, its just so good in any deck

if you have room spiky helmet or rocky helmet is smart still

Really I feel like the 4 Fire energys have done pretty good and I feel like 3 is a little low.

I got frusterated with the number of Dragapult and Mega Greninja Decks at my local shop, so put my Scolipede deck aside for a week, and put together a Bronzong deck that totally shut them all down by not allowing them to evolve... but every other deck ruined me without much effort.

I tried using Volcarona, but could never consistantly get the fire energy when I needed them for burn. I went back to Froslass and Munki, as since I am mostly using dark energy, it seems much easier to set up my Munki(s), and I only need one Froslass out to throw damage back for post scolipede KO's. Also changing the 4 secondary energy from fire to psychic allows Munki to mind bend, and confusion can be great.

Trolley is probably a better ACE, but lately I have been using Legacy Energy. I can put it on a Munki, and it counts as both dark and psychic. Also, Munki is usually the first targeted, so when they do knock it out, they gain no prizes, which puts you ahead one card in the prize trade.

I also stole your spikey energy idea, and using Hilda, can usually get one on my active Scolipede to knock out their attacker if they don't retreat and retaliate after Dastardly Jab. Even if they do retreat, my Froslass Munki combo can usually ping them on the bench.

I rely heavily on Secret Art and Crispin to get energy out faster, but Toxtricity looks like another great way... and more damage points for Munki to toss. I will have to see how I can fit a line or two into my currently overloaded setup. Only downside for my deck is another Ability pokemon taking Froslass damage I probably can't move off fast enough. With only Munki(s), they can keep themselves relatively healed. Perhaps another look at Volcarona instead of Froslass to see if I can make it work.

PLEASE keep up the good work, I feel with these many brilliant ideas, my deck is improving.

OH I love this Don't play anything but kitchen table but I might take a look if it's even remotely possible to get scolipede functioning

MyceliumMADNESS avatar

Last week I used trolley as my ACE, and went 3 wins 0 losses at my local shops casual game.

It was great being able to fill my bench with snorunt and munki on turn one, TWICE! Mega Kangaskhan Ex, Mega Lucario Ex, and Mega Excadrill Ex were the main attackers of my opponents, and In all my games, they all focused on either removing my frostlass or munki lines. I was able to build up multiple Scolipede with a spikey energy for each fight, and then they KO'd themselves attacking me for the first kill. After, I had to do some night stretcher and boss orders shenanegans, but with revivified froslass and/or munki, was able to pull final victories from damage counters. Meowth Ex is such a liability for opponents, and I love that everyone seems to be using them.
