Deck Primer

Something I've been wanting to try for a while after seeing the incredibly interesting Scolipede from Twilight Masquerade.

The deck revolves around setting up a Scolipede and a Brute Bonnet with an attached ABEC, allowing you to lower the Active Pokémon's HP to 10 before instantly taking a KO with Poison during checkup. The additional benefit to this is that it is a hard counter to Fezandipiti ex, a card that's featured in almost every deck, as well as shutting down any cards that rely

The additional benefit to this is that it is a hard counter to Fezandipiti ex, a card that's featured in almost every deck, as well as shutting down any cards that rely on one of your opponent's Pokémon being knocked out on your turn. Grand Tree is used to speedily evolve, as well as Arven and Rare Candy (plus max copies of Scolipede and Venipede) to set up. This is still a work in progress as Brute Bonnet in particular still struggles to set up reliably, and Energy acceleration is rather lackluster. If anybody has any ideas, feel free to let me know!

also Budew can realistically be used in this deck to take Prizes so that's funny

UPDATE 1: Dropped the copy of Iron Valiant ex in favor of a copy of Fezandipiti ex. As a deck with lots of single-Prize Pokémon, it'll likely have more knockouts taken against it than other decks; additionally, Iron Valiant ex wasn't as useful as better options like Munkidori, Hawlucha, or the surprisingly effective Budew who both takes the KO and Item locks an opponent trying to recover.

UPDATE 2: At the suggestion of @MyceliumMADNESS , I've added a Town Store in to increase the consistency of finding ABECs. Additionally, I've dropped a copy each of Arven, Iono, Big Air Balloon, Energy Retrieval, Brute Bonnet, and TM Evolution for a few more things: namely, more Ultra Balls to compensate for the drop of Brute Bonnet, Town Store to compensate for the drop of Arven, and Calamitous Snowy Mountain to add another way to take KOs as well as 2 Colress's Tenacity to find all these new Stadiums. Colress's Tenacity also finding Energy allowed me to drop a Darkness Energy in favor of a Switch, as this deck currently struggles to effectively move around Pokémon.

UPDATE 3: Dropped a copy of Earthen Vessel and a Darkness Energy in favor of two Super Rods. Not sure if this is a good idea, but it'll allow me to more reliably have copies of Whirlipede in my deck for Grand Tree.

All I can think of is adding Town Store(s) to make obtaining ABEC a little more consistant.  I always run at least two, and it would also allow you to pull your other tools a little more reliably.

MyceliumMADNESS Yeah, I might drop a copy of ABEC to fit in a Town Store. I'd also probably drop a copy of Arven to fit in Colress's Tenacity if I did that, just to more consistently find Town Store or Grand Tree. Would love to find a way to drop one of my Brute Bonnet copies to fit in another Town Store, but I don't see how to do that without sabotaging my ability to consistently find BB...

A question: would it be best to switch out Grand Tree (Stellar Crown) for Neutralization Zone (Shrouded Fable)? I, frankly, don't find myself using GT much because of how much it slows the deck down to have to play copies of Whirlipede.

Second question: should I completely pivot with this deck and add Teal Mask Ogerpon ex (Prismatic Evolutions)? It would allow me to use Crispin (Prismatic Evolutions) and itself for better Energy acceleration, and could make this into a very fast deck with the swap for Neutralization Zone (Shrouded Fable).
