This is the deck I have been playing on TCGL and plan on building in paper. It's such a fun deck to play and it makes me so happy to see my boy Paldean Tauros actually be able to compete with meta decks.

Going second is basically mandatory if you win the coin flip, but you don't auto-lose if you go first. But because of how improtant Risky Ruins is for the deck, being able to play Team Rocket's Petrel/Team Rocket's Transceiver to setup can be huge and going first mwans you have to hard open it or you're kind of cooked. However, if the top deck is gas or you feel like gambling, Lillie's Determination is also a great way to refuel the hand to hopefully play more Tauros and get them on the bench to start swinging.

With the deck being full of single prizers, except for Fezandipiti ex, going band for band with Megas and other ex decks is much easier to do. However, from some play testing, I've noticed that grass decks are a pretty rough matchup since they can potentially set up faster and outpace your damage. If they take first prize, it could very quickly spiral, especially against any Beedrill ex deck playing Arboliva ex or other general bench snipe strats. However, on average, they have to put more effort into killing Tauros with backrow hate since they have 130 HP.

Now, while I've seen a few other lists playing other Pokemon not named Tauros, I feel the best choices are either Fezandipiti ex or Meowth ex. Since it can search you any supporter, being able to drop it and get Petrel, Lillie, Boss's Orders, or even Lana's Aid is a huge boon for the deck. However, because of the prevalence of Team Rocket's Watchtower, playing Meowth ex could be harder in a potential grind game, which Fezandipiti can help with more often. Plus, because it's dark and has more HP, if ypu drop it on field, your opponent needs to do the full 210 instead of 150, or 120 instead of 80-90 if they're hitting for weakness.
