Slowking/Shiftry

Omg. I been running slowking since rotation, and refused to give up on it. Although its not my comp deck, its still fun. The deck you provided works so well on tcglive. I plan on using it in locals!

TrainerTee Thank you so much for not giving up on Slowking haha! There is a lot of improvements i would give on this deck but I hope you bring this deck to locals and have fun with it! Please continue using it and see how you can improve it yourself! 

Im back. Just went 4-1 in my locals with this deck! Shiftry came in clutch in one of my games by sending my opponent's main attacker back in the deck three times for disruption and stall. Have you made any changes to the deck since then? 

TrainerTee If i was to make any changes, I would add more Ciphermaniac's and a sacred ash over a Lana. Most likely get rid of Shaymin for something more useful or another attack option for it because most of the time you aren't going against bench snipers. BUT- I am very glad to see you played so well with the deck Haha! Thank you for trying it out! Shiftry how you explained and used it is for that exact reason, especially since people either don't know of that card or never expect it in any deck. Again congrats on the wins that's actually not a bad win to lose ratio for a rouge deck haha

Haha thank you. How did you end finding shiftry? Everyone around me including my opponent was so surprised when i used shiftry. I hope slowking gets stronger with the black and white cards coming up it's going to be so underrated.

TrainerTee Honestly.. I just looked through all non Rulebox pokemon for silly idea's but then I saw Shiftry and a thought just clicked "What if I just slowed my opponent down and picked on the baby pokemon later?" And it just worked really well. Even if you dont use Shiftry often because most of the time you don't need it, It's like having a Tera Sylveon EX for only benched pokemon. It's SUPER niche but works great when your opponent doesn't know about it.

Also I think Meta is... not fun 😭 Which is an personal opinion, but Gardy, Marnie Grimmsnarl, Raging Bolt, Charizard, Dragapult, Just aren't fun looking decks. But something like Slowking/Shiftry? A weird idea that works in a sense and actually has to let you think to win? That type of playstyle is my favorite. Idk odd non Meta decks that can beat Meta decks is very Dopamine Factory haha

Also- to reply to your Black Bolt/White Flare comment, There is a Haxorous that Instant KO's Basic pokemon which isn't too bad actually. I played with Haxorous from Shrouded Fable to counter Mewtwo because that deck really counters Slowking, But I still got washed by a mewtwo deck at locals haha

I agree with you. I have a dragapult deck as my "competitive" deck but it's just not as fun or enjoyable as the slowking deck. And like you said , the dopamine to win with this deck is crazy. Let me know if you find more attackers or useful pokemon for the deck, i'll probably play this deck in till it rotates out lol. 

TrainerTee Okay I changed the list a little bit. -1 Lana -1 Professer +1 Cipher +1 Sacred Ash. In late game, if you have pokemon you need with no way to recover them, you can use Sacred ash and Cipher Maniac the pokemon you need at the moment, especially if you are in a Stadium war and don't have Night Acadamy. Cipher is just another good way to get the pokemon and top deck you need next turn, even if you are Iono'd or Unfair stamped. I would do a couple test runs of it before jumping the gun into a locals. Sequencing and all. Let me know if it works for you or not and I can chnage what needs changing!

Hello im back

i've been away from the tcg game for a bit but today there was a league cup at locals. I used your adjustments by adding cipher and sacred ash and ended up going 3-2 making the top 5! I started 3-0 but the last two games I found myself bricking a lot. It's kind of hard trying to get two xatu in play as well. Any recommendations? 

Would you consider annihlape back in for those heavy hp non teras? I dont know what i should cut

@Trainertee Hello! I'm going to be honest I've taken a break from PTCG lol. I would probably do some testing games and see what works. The Sacred ash and Cipher didnt work as planned, so maybe staying with the 4 Professor's would work better. If you want I can make the changes and notify you later!

Maybe get rid of a brock for Annihilape? Again I can change some things up and let you know when it's changes haha

TrainerTee Hello! I am back, and I just reverted it back to what it was before! The other deck just didnt really work as well compared to how more consistent this one was! I hope you don't fully give up on Slowking haha!
