Have you considered some energies like double turbo or reversal for more energy per energy for the energy?
You could add an Energy Retreival or two, or even a Super Energy Retreival, that way you wouldn't run out of Energies.

Reversal energy can give you 3 at a time since the count of energy seems a bit low
If you'd be willing to bring it out of standard, there's a few energies that give you more energy, like twin energy or the Prism Star ones...
