~~~OVERVIEW~~~
Anyways, Exeggcute has one of the craziest abilities in Expanded, as it can instantly recover itself from the discard pile as many times as you want in a turn. While it might say "once per turn," a loophole in the game's rules suggest that once a card goes into a players hand, it becomes confidential information, therefore there's no way to prove if you discarded the ame card, or a different one with the same name. Still with me?
Alolan Exeggutor has an attack that conveniently allows you to discard your Exeggcute from your hand for big damage, at 60 per discard. But wait! You can only discard up to 3 since you need one to be the base for the evolution! Actually, through the help of Zoroark, Ditto Prism, and Lance Prism, you can get Stage 1 Pokemon into play without needing their base evolution! Zoroark specifically helps because it can get you Altaria, your best way to boost your damage even further and push it past the HP barriers against VSTARS and bulkier ex's/Tag Teams.
This deck runs on a Battle Compressor engine, as Zoroark calls from the discard pile, and exeggcute can get itself out of the discard pile for free anyways. Just be careful to not discard any of your Prism Stars, because they'll be Lost Zone'd instead of discarded. Buddy Buddy Poffin will get your Zorua, and Lana's Aid is the best option for recovering them. Since Exeggcute can be discarded freely, this deck can afford to run discarding cards like Secret Box, Ultra Ball, Roxie, and Guzma & Hala without much stress, as Exeggute makes the discard costs negligable.
This deck doesnt mind going first or second. Try to set up as many Zorua and/or Swablu as possible, alongside Ditto Prism. Try and discard your attackers, with varying amounts depending on if you'll be using Zoroark or not to get your evolutions. If you're against a deck that could be playing Girafarig (Lost Thunder) or Lysandre ◇ (Forbidden Light), refrain from dumping your cards too early, as they'll Lost Zone your cards and ruin your plan. If you're going first against a deck you think will be running the Bunnelby (Primal Clash) engine, try getting Chaotic Swell out since they use Artazon (Paldean Fates) to help their setup. Professor Turo's Scenario is there in case you start with an Exeggcute or need to abandon ship with any of your Pokemon.
If this deck needs any more optimizations, let me know!
Your welcome! I didn't think about the Zoroark! This is brilliant. In my opinion though, only 2 is needed because you have Ditto and Lance, AND 180 damage can KO a lot of stuff in Expanded. But still, I have to agree this is better than my list.
And also Lana recovers Basic energies, so unless you are supposed supposed to get 3 pokemon, I'm pretty sure it's useless.
Lastly, since you play Roxie, I guess you can play the Weezing I played before modifying it via your suggestions.
But yeah this is spicy.
WafflzInTheHouse I know what Lana does, don't worry. It's just the best way to get instant mass Pokémon recovery at the moment barring Rescue Carrier, and Zoroark discards itself when using the ability. I maxed out the Zoro line on purpose to minimize your odds of starting with Exeggcute as your only basic, which is obviously an issue. It can also double as another method of grabbing Altaria, so in a way it's 4 more Dittos, albeit with slightly higher maintenance. I considered Koffing/Weezing, but the deck is pretty tight at the moment, and a 1 damage counter spread isn't exactly what this deck needs outside of some more specific scenarios.
CountyGibbon798 I see. Quick question, is Pokemon Ranger there for a reason? Or is it just a random tech card?
WafflzInTheHouse It's there as an answer to mainly ADP which can obliterate all single-prize decks, and any odd item lock attack, or as I just found out, Chimecho.
Oh yeah, when you @ me while commenting on one of my decks, I get notified twice lol.
