I'm going off of memory so this deck could be off and some tweaks could be made but I believe I got the pokemon line correct. I played this deck (or a close approximation of it) sometime after my pure speedrill deck. It did really well and countered a lot of the machamp and gengar decks going around at the time. This format was one of my favorites due to all of the really good and affordable (especially since foriegn cards were still allowed) decks going around at the time. You could be really creative

You could be really creative with your decks.

Tangrowth's Swallow Up really is great and deals 120 (+20 w/ Expert Belt) as long as you have more HP than the opponent. It could easily donk most decks around at the time. Shaymin allows energy to move around in an emergency and the LV. X gave all grass Pokemon +40 HP, helped with snipes and supported Tangrowth. Sceptile allowed each grass energy to count for 2 which is an amazing ability and it allowed you to setup quickly (Might have been a 1-0-1 line as well). Leafeon is mostly there for the LV. X ability that allows you to attach energy twice in a turn. It also could heal a little bit of damage and LV. X's attack could do some damage if a Tangrowth wasn't ready.

I remember it having a bit of trouble with Luxray sniping bench warmers like Uxie, Azelf, or Claydol so you had to be careful with those matchups. I don't remember too many fire decks at the time either besides Infernape w/ the HGSS support.
