Deck Primer

Phase 1: Setup (Turns 1 to 2)

Goal: Stabilize early by building your Bench: 2 Beldum, 2 Cufant, and 1 to 2 Munkidori.

You are fragile here, so prioritize Bench development over evolving your Active.

Preferred start: Go second.

Turn 1 plan (Arven line):

Play Arven to search:

Buddy-Buddy Poffin and Rigid Band

Alternatives: Earthen Vessel or Hero’s Cape

Buddy-Buddy Poffin: Bench 2 Beldum immediately.

This matters because Beldum is only 70 HP, so getting them down early is critical.

Nest Ball / Ultra

Nest Ball / Ultra Ball: Use Nest Ball or Ultra Ball to find: Cufant or Munkidori then get them into play as soon as possible.

Earthen Vessel:

Search 1 to 2 Basic Energy (Metal for the main engine, Darkness for Munkidori).

If possible, attach Darkness Energy to a Benched Munkidori early.

Key mistake to avoid:

Do not evolve into Copperajah ex too early unless you have 3 Energy attached plus defensive tools online.

Cufant is a 1-Prize piece, while Copperajah ex gives up 2 Prizes, so evolving too early can lose the game.

Phase 2: Grind (Turn 3 onward)

This is where the deck performs best: Tank, accelerate, then hit hard.

Engine setup:

Evolve Metang on the Bench.

From Turn 2 onward, use Metal Maker to attach 1 to 2 Metal Energy per turn onto Copperajah ex.

Active plan (Copperajah ex wall):

Make Copperajah ex difficult to KO by stacking:

Rigid Band or Hero’s Cape

Full Metal Lab

Iron Defender

With all defenses combined, you can reach around -120 damage reduction, meaning opponents may need 430+ damage to score a clean OHKO.

Main attack:

Use Nosequake to deal 260 damage to the Active.

Munkidori tech (damage conversion):

Use Adrena-Brain to move Nosequake’s self-damage (up to 3 damage counters) off your side and onto the opponent’s Active or Bench.

This can be done once per Munkidori each turn, enabling steady spread pressure over time.

Example: 3 attacks = 90 spread damage moved into key targets.

Important reminder:

You usually need a manual Darkness attachment early (Turn 1 to 2) to activate Munkidori consistently.

Super Rod helps recover Energy or Pokémon that were discarded or prized.

Iono keeps your hand refreshed while disrupting the opponent.

Phase 3: Checkmate (Mid to Late Game)

This phase is about converting your tanking advantage into guaranteed Prize trades.

Boss’s Orders (Ghetsis) x3:

Pull up key support Pokémon like Pidgeot ex and take 2-Prize KOs with Nosequake.

If the opponent cannot respond effectively, you often gain a free follow-up turn.

Turo’s Scenario x2:

Once Copperajah ex is heavily damaged (example: 280 damage taken), use Turo to bounce it back to hand, then promote a fresh attacker.

Since Metang keeps rebuilding Energy, you can reset pressure quickly and force the opponent to waste turns.

Win condition:

Maintain a Prize lead, stack spread damage, and take clean Boss KOs to close games.

When executed properly, the deck can win decisively against both aggro and control.
