Deryl is this what you were thinking of with a Torracat only variant? I took it to mean a stall deck with Chi-Yu as a checkmate card and Incineroar as a tech for Lost Zone decks.
What I meant was 4-4 and no other pokemon, but chi yu is a great inclusion. Play pidgeot v to not deck out and forest seal? arven can also help get leftovers. Lose water pokemon, oricorio, and keep incineroar. add four boss, cross switcher, and other healing cards, path is great.
strategy is to stall with 1 torracat in play and chi yu for game. play more pokemon only when necessary.
Cook FST could help as a one-of or two-of.
Deryl thanks for the suggestion! This deck looks a lot better now! I don't get why I should play 4 boss when I have counter catcher. I also don't like Cross Switcher since I don't run Colress's Experiment or Pokestop. The best healing cards are Leftovers and Lucky Ice Pop, but those run out. Perhaps Emergency Jelly could help, but I'd rather run leftovers and use an item to heal. Potion works, but I don't like how it can't be reused. Special Conditions are also a big issue and there aren't many counters to effects like Brute Bonnet's ability.
Was there supposed to be a Cook or two?
Actually, that's pretty good at getting it back to full.
NoGoodNames Fighting Au Lait does it just as well in combination with Leftovers, and in decks that don't take prizes it isn't needed as they won't be damaging Torracat. It is also searchable with Arven.
Tangent Why do you use 4 basin? The only use for it is on Chi-yu ex and even then thats only for its second attack because torrcats atttack only works if its at full hp and basin damages the pokemon you attach the energy to.
dragon1239s I run Leftovers that can be used to heal the 20 damage taken by Torracat. It's easy to lose an energy attachment so I use Magma Basin for consistency. I have quite a few cards that easily heal 20 damage. I agree that four is a lot and it isn't super important. I'll drop one for a Leftovers.
Incineroar is a tech for the Stonjourner matchup. It also coincidentally helps against LZB.
I would play emergency jelly not the other heals
You should play Klara for Incineroar, by the way, Moon and Giratina's VSTAR both OHKO torracats. Maybe play LOR Snorlax for Roaring Moon and play vacuums and cursed duster to stop Moon from using its second attack. Entei V might help too as a one-of. Radiant Tsareena can help a little more, plus Oricorio can only heal the active while Tsareena heals all.
If playing arven you should play jelly - also maybe play town store as a one-of for jelly search.
Also you could play Sweet Honey.
Marco_Ne Leftovers has better synergy with Fighting Au Lait and Magma Basin. Deryl Klara is a good idea for dealing with Giratina. Emergency Jelly is better in that case. Roaring Moon is fine because we can return KO with Gritty Claws as it only has 30 HP left. Lost Vacuum really helps that matchup. It also allows me to double magma basin if needed. I don't like Entei V as it only does damage. It's also hard to switch out of. I'll consider it if I have room. Radiant Tsareena could be good but it allows them to take a prize and circumvent Gritty Claws. I also like Oricorio because it's Level Ball searchable. Thanks for the suggestions!
More Incineroar
Cinder2001 I only run Incineroar for Lost Zone decks. One is plenty with Klara. It's a lot harder to heal than Torracat so I don't focus on it more. If I did, I would be using Secret Attack with Reprisal to take prizes rather than hiding behind Gritty Claws the entire time. It's easier to power up and heal with Cheryl, but that's a different deck.
Tangent aroma lady draws and removes all special conditions
Iplaylostbox Aroma Lady would work, but it doesn't help against cards like Brute Bonnet who can just poison to deal the extra 10. I need a card that prevents Special Conditions, not removes them. Something like Lum Berry would be nice, or possibly a card that stops effects of attacks. This isn't a huge issue yet, as not a ton of decks run cards that can give me special conditions, but it could be if Klawf or Brute Bonnet in general rise in popularity.
Tangent mist energy from paldean fates prevents effects of attacks but it's only being released in about a month
Iplaylostbox Mist Energy would be great on a tool card! I also want to use Leftovers. I'd have to rework back to an ability based healing engine. Unless Mist Energy can provide Fire energy, I'm not using it. Attached Energy is valuable in this deck.
