Deck Primer

Have you ever wanted to do to deal BIG damage? As much damage as the energies attached to all of your Pokémon? Then Turbo Darkrai VSTAR (Astral Radiance)  is the deck for you!

Turbo Darkrai is such a fun deck to play and packs a powerful punch! It would not surprise me at all to see this deck come out of nowhere at Pokémon World’s 2022 and steal a top place finish from the Meta Origin Forme Palkia VSTAR (Astral Radiance)  and Arceus VSTAR (Brilliant Stars)  decks.

This deck takes advantage of the card Dark Patch (Astral Radiance)  in order to accelerate energy as quickly as possible onto either Darkrai himself or Galarian Moltres V (Chilling Reign)  for BIG damage! Galarian Moltres’s ability Direflame Wings also allows you to get an additional energy per turn onto your Moltres. This Galarian Moltres with a Choice Belt (Astral Radiance) , one dark patch, and an energy per turn can literally give you 220 damage turn 1. Which is a knockout on an opposing Arceus V, Palkia V, or Mew V. This is insanely quick damage that a lot of other decks just cannot pull off.

Another all-star ability of the deck is Darkrai VSTAR’s ability Star Abyss. This gives you the ability to bring back two item cards from your discard pile into your hand. Most of the time, the two item cards you use this on are going to be dark patches for even more energy acceleration. Also, the main attack of this deck is our Darkrai VSTAR’s attack Dark Pulse! This attack is so strong that it allows you to deal 30+ for each dark energy attach to ALL of our Pokémon in play. Given that we run 14 dark energies in this deck this has the potential to be 450 damage!

Crobat V (Darkness Ablaze)  is another amazing card featured in this deck and is arguably the best card draw in the game right now. Most of the time when you see this card it is put into a deck with no darkness energies and never gets to attack. However, not in this deck. In this deck Crobat gives us a chance against those pesky Miltank players of the world seeing as how Crobat can poison Miltank and the damage cannot be blocked by Miltanks ability. Additionally, to give us a little more protection against Miltank, I have included a 1-1 line of Koffing and Galarian Weezing (Shining Fates)! Team Rocket would be so proud! Galarian Weezing’s poison damage is a powerhouse and allows us to put 4 damage counters per turn onto Miltank instead of 1!

All in all, I think this deck is a dangerously fast deck and has the potential to hold up against any of the more meta decks in the current 2022 format. I hope to see this deck in WORLDS!

Hey this deck is pretty good! I just finished building it yesterday and it's a lot of fun. The only difference is that I'm running 2 baby moltres instead of weezing, I'll try weezing to see how it goes. Also I really like the descriptions you put into your decks, it gives a great summary of what the deck does.

Thank you! I'm glad the deck is working well for you! Running two baby Moltres is completely fine! I just added the Weezing to help against tankier things like Miltank and Duraladon. Their abilities are strong but they can't stop poison damage and Weezing gives X4 Poison damage.
