I just love this guy too much. Probably one of my favorite cards to come out in a long time.

I've always been a sucker for fun fossil cards, but Tyrantrum really takes the cake as an absolutely gigantic attacker. However, I think it has next to NO chance of being competitive for lots of reasons.

  • Fossils suck. There's no consistent way to search any of them out in Standard right now other than Petrel, which isn't great.
  • Grass Weakness really sucks right now, since Teal Mask Ogerpon is running rampant

  • Fossils suck. There's no consistent way to search any of them out in Standard right now other than Petrel, which isn't great.
  • Grass Weakness really sucks right now, since Teal Mask Ogerpon is running rampant in this format.
  • Though Tyrantrum is easy to setup, it is nearly impossible to recover with alone as an attacker, thus why I suggest Okidogi, since there exists zero options to recur an Item in Standard (from my research), so if a Jaw Fossil, Tyrunt or Tyrantrum is knocked out, that's goodbye forever to that line of cards there!

Suggestions:

  • Run Okidogi with this. It's rough since Okidogi demands a Prism Energy, but you can still slap Prisms on Tyrantrum if you're desperate enough to keep it alive with the Ability. Okidogi provides some form of an early game attacker for this deck at the least. This list is merely an idea of what I'd run. I'm sure I'll make a version with Okidogi soon.
  • Fiddle with the amount of Petrel / Dawn / Hilda you run. I think getting those exactly right is the secret key to making the deck much stronger.
