Deck Primer

Still play testing in ranked, but the general idea is keeping Venusaur ex on the board for as long as possible. To do that we use Munkidori(s) to move damage, Venusaur's ability Tranquil Flower to heal 60, and leftovers to heal 20 for a total of 140 per turn. Just a quick disclaimer: the 20 only kicks in after your turn ends. I also threw in Cook for an additional heal of 70.

Unfair Stamp, Iono, Skwovet, Mew ex, Fezandipiti ex, and Squawkabilly ex are all in here as draw support. Use Skwovet's

Unfair Stamp, Iono, Skwovet, Mew ex, Fezandipiti ex, and Squawkabilly ex are all in here as draw support. Use Skwovet's ability Nest Stash to shuffle your hand into the deck and draw 1 card, then Mew ex to draw 2 cards, 3 depending on if you're able to play that 1 card. You can also use Squawkabilly ex's Squawk and Seize in combination with Skwovet's ability to discard 1 card versus having discard a potential vital hand. Fezandipiti ex allows you to draw 3 additional cards if one of your Pokémon was knocked out on your opponent's turn, so with the combination of Skwovet, Mew ex, and Unfair Stamp (which also can only be used if one of your Pokémon was knocked out during your opponent's turn), you'll be sure to see a lot of cards (which isn't also including Iono in that cycle).

We include the stadium to bump up Venusaur ex's damage to 210 (30 in between turns) if your opponent's not a dark type. Munkidori pushes that to 240-270. If you don't need the heal from Leftovers, you can give this froggy flower some thorns by attaching Rocky Helmet instead, bumping that damage up to 260-290.

To help get Venusaur ex going, I put in Joltik for energy acceleration. Joltik allows you to attach up to 2 grass energy and/or 2 electric energy to any of your Pokémon in play. Coincidentally, you can also build up Mew ex to deal with an old pesky wall Pokémon.

Penny is in the deck just to get rid of prize liabilities, or you could be techy and penny loop a Munkidori for extra heal/damage output 😉. Genesect is used for its ability to deny your opponent from using their ACE SPEC by attaching Rescue Board, or whichever tool you want to use (I just like it for the free pivot). Otherwise, Genesect, Penny and Cook are flexible cards that can be swapped out for whatever suits your fancy 😁

Any suggestions, as always, on improving the consistency of the deck are appreciated. I hope you enjoy playing with Venusaur ex 😄
