Interesting list, though you could probably add Lilligant from Journey Together when it releases and by removing a Professor's Research and a Nest Ball. You should also probably make it 4 Arven's instead.
Waffle Enthusiast Thats a good addition and yeah it'd make more sense to use four Arvens as it does have a few tools. I'll start fixing it now. Thank you for the feedback!
LimeLemon No problem
Nice deck, i just recommend playing 2x Applin ( Twilight Masquerade and/or Stellar Crown, any you want ), 2x Hydrapple ex ( Stellar Crown but also on the Prismatic Evolutions ), 1x Hisuian Lillgant V and 1x Hisuian Lilligant VSTAR ( both them from Stellar Crown ), 2x Kricketot and 2x Kricketune ( both them also from Astral Radiance ), 1x Rotom V ( Crown Zenith and/or Lost Origin, any you want ), removing 1 Nest Ball and adding 3x Buddy-Buddy Poffins. Hope i helped !
sonicfanplus123 Thank you for the recommendations, but this deck is for Post-Rotation while the Petilil and Hisuian Lilligant are placeholders for the ones coming in Journey Together besides that I will do what you suggested of the Applin's and Hydrapple's same with the removing a nest ball and adding a Buddy-Buddy Poffin.
That's ok and thank you ! :)
sonicfanplus123 No problem! Anyways here is the updated list for the suggestions for pre-rotation: https://pokemoncard.io/deck/venusaur-ex-poison-box-deck-horrible-120319
Note: It's quite a bit different than this one.
In my Hydrapple decks, I prefer using the dragon version of Applin (Twilight Masquerade). Its find friend ability allows you to pull any pokemon from your deck, so you can grab something you immediately need, like a Teal Mask/Brute Bonnet/Latias/Fez, or an evolution.
My only other suggestion is fitting in some Bug Catching Set (Prismatic Evolutions) since you are using a good number of grass pokemon. Your deck already seems a bit tight, so not sure what I would swap out, but it would allow you to pull grass energy and pokemon a little more reliably.
MyceliumMADNESS Thank you for the suggestions! I will add these changes later today.
I decided to just fully lean into a normal grass deck because the cards that made a poison box all basically left.
ENERGY SWITCH
yo need that to get venusaur up quick and be fluiddddd
also lilligant is not needed because it takes too much to set up PLUS it is a set up pokemon
i recommend just keeping the venusaur, hyrapple, and oger boger pawn to make the deck more consistent and fluidddddddddddddddddd
deckdex You aren't wrong. Lilligant would probably take too much time and Energy Switch will be added. Thank you for the feedback!
3-2-3 line with venusaur and cut energy to 9
cut bug catching set and add buddy poffin
cut arven, professors reasearch, rare candy, and a area 51 under deaths
add grand tree
add 2 ionos
yay
deckdex I have made those changes you suggested.
interesting deck, but I still confuse who will be the main attacker?
Rosewood Hollow I apologize for the late response, but Venusaur is the main attacker unless you have enough energy in play for Hydrapple to attack.
I like this deck, have you ever considered using the heavy baton tool for Venusaur? It seems like it could be good but I'm not sure. I also threw in the new Megearna from journey together and a rescue board when I was playing it, it was a cool tech card.
Cloudyday2222 Thank you for the feedback! I have at some point considered heavy baton but I don't know what to cut in order for it. Also, I might try out the magearna from Journey Together to try it out.
This is kind of an odd deck so I'm just gonna transition it into a Hydrapple ex deck.
