Snorlax is dead. Mill decks are struggling in a world of free switching abilities, reduced attack costs and expanded bench play. Thanks to the trailblazing of a few other players I've fine tuned a Chandelure deck to mix a bit of offense and defense. I've found great success playing this online. Snorlax is dead. Mill decks are struggling in a world of free switching abilities, reduced attack costs and expanded bench play. Thanks to the trailblazing of a few other players I've fine tuned a Chandelure deck to mix a bit of offense and defense. I've found great success playing this online. Though I struggle with the occasional bad draw and a few hard counters (Infernal Reign/Dark Charizard), I've noticed that many opponents are caught off gaurd by this uncommon combo. The most meta decks involve cycling though 25+ cards on the first turn. A mix of Chandelure and Comfey turns this advantage against them. During a quick buildup, many players don't feel the water boiling as they're suddenly forced down to under 20 cards by the third or fourth turn. Slower opponents will burn switches and boss's orders to push aside the Mimikyu. As their hand size builds, my own attack begins. Quick switches to a Chandelure change strategy from defense to offense. Powerful 300+ damage attacks force lazy opponents into uncomfortable panic play, frantically pushing cards out of their hand. Once the threat has been noticed, I delay with counter-catchers, forcing the opponent to burn even more resources. Offense if they're slow. Defense if they're fast. By turn 5 or 6 I'm certain of witch direction I want to take to win. A really fun mill deck that, while not the best, is a cheap way to throw your opponent off making for a fun change-of-pace deck in a sea of optimized meta garbage.

-Switch Carts/Switches/Arvin/Counter Catchers needed for versitility. No bosses orders, no need. I play down in prize cards more often than not.

-Rare Candy and Grand Tree for quick evolutions. I often don't mind if the opponent evolves. The biggest hurdle is getting through the useless Stage 1 Lampent phase.

-Energies are a desperate resource. I rarely put them down unless I'm about to use an attack.

-Iono is a dangerous card for the opponent to have. I keep one for the rare times that I'm actually down on the card count, or if my opponent burned out their hand early. Its a must.

-Roseanne's Backup is a preference of mine. Often in the first two turns something will go wrong. This is an easy way to get cards back in my deck to be ahead in the count and also claw back an energy or the Grand Tree. Alternate support card is a Penny, since Budew is popular right now.

-Xerosic's Machinations is a must. Often the opponent will have a large hand but circumstances don't allow the switch to offense. Playing this will make the opponent uncomfortable while you wait for a better opportunity. I've never regretted having it but never needed more than 1.

-Bravery Charm, Lucky Helmet and Handheld Fan. I use 7 cards for any combination of these tools. This is my current useage.

-Cycling Road. Any second stadium will do either to destroy an opponent Area Zero or your own grand tree.  (I like this one to encourage the opponent to draw more.)

It's a nice deck, sometimes hard to set up with the fast meta game we have theses days ... I think few cards can be changed like the Switch Cart (Astral Radiance) for simple Switch. And mabe something to calm down the turbo decks in the first turns ... But I like it. ;)
