Welcome to the Victini ex Battle Deck!
Like many fire types, this Mythical Pokémon focuses on launching a strong attack this turn, even if it hurts your attacks on the next turn.

A Tricky Trade-Off
Victini can be a tricky Pokémon. Its Strafe attack allows you to hit your opponent and then retreat so they can’t counterattack. This lets you get in some early damage without putting your Pokémon ex in danger. Remember, though, that you need to get Victini back into the Active Spot to attack again. Victini also has the Victory Flame attack, which can do 220 damage! This will knock out almost any Pokémon without a Rule Box and might even take out some smaller Pokémon ex—but Victini won’t be able to attack on the next turn.

•    Song of Fury: The funny little first partner Pokémon Fuecoco evolves into an incredibly scary attacker. Skeledirge is a stage 2 Pokémon, so it takes some work to get out, but it’s well worth the effort. Its Passionate Singing attack can help you recover by getting Energy cards back from your discard pile. It also has 180 HP and can do 190 damage with its Blazing Shout attack, making it almost as strong as Victini ex! Be careful though—Blazing Shout also does 30 damage to Skeledirge, so it won’t be able to use that attack very often.
•    Cycling with Cyclizar: The ✶ Pokémon Cyclizar helps this deck in several ways. Even though its Touring attack doesn’t do any damage, it lets you draw two cards, which can help you find the card you need. Also, it has no Retreat Cost, which is unusual and can be very useful in many situations—often referred to as a “pivot” Pokémon because of the flexibility it enables. When Victini ex uses its Strafe attack and goes to the Bench, if you put Cyclizar in the Active Spot, you can retreat it for free next turn to bring Victini ex back up to attack! Plus, whenever one of your Pokémon gets Knocked Out, you can put Cyclizar in the Active Spot and then wait to see what you draw for the turn before deciding your next move.

Be sure to switch up your strategies with this fun deck!
