Deck Primer

First play the Unown VSTARthen retreat it and destroy with ogerpon EX or Mimikyu, you can attatch the bomb to mimikyu since 120 should kill whatever card kills or atleast make it less of a free prize card. Then use alakazam EX for attaking from bench doing 360 damage!

A few things:

- I'd suggest taking out Peonia and Milotic to make this deck standard. Having access to those two cards is a disaster in the long run, as your deck would be exposed to the wrath of the Expanded format.

- Milotic also has no method of evolving lol

- Gardevoir and Pidgeot also don't tend to mesh well together anyways. Pidgeot likes to be put into play as fast as possible, while Gardevoir is a setup card that likes to stay as Kirlia for a while to draw a bunch of cards first. And because Kirlia already takes the place of a draw engine, Pidgeot has less of a place. The slow nature also wouldn't work with Grand Tree, so I'd suggest a different ACE SPEC.

I can see some funny gimmick using Unown in Expanded, but I'd focus on keeping this standard for the time being.

thank you for feedback Countygibbon,

I designed this deck mostly just to play with my friends and we had already agreed to use the expanded format so that is why i chose to use milotic. Are there any other physichic damage dealers you think would be better fit with this deck and if i would switch pidgeot out who else should i add to help get my bench setup? or are there any other addittions/changes that might be good?

Thank you for your help with building my deck

CountyGibbon798 (since tf2's @ didn't work)

Hol up, I have a deck for that. Here, enjoy! Unknown Genetics - PokemonCard

Unown vstar isn't great in standard due to lack of options and lack of Dimension Valley (Phantom Forces) or Triple Acceleration Energy (Unbroken Bonds) To use Unown as quickly as possible. It's also very vulnerable to gusting so equip the Leafy Camo Poncho (Silver Tempest) I would suggest using mew just because of how versatile (pun of the old mew EX) it is. Mew can copy attacks, use a 1 energy 360 dmg attack, and use a ranged attack that perfectly KOs Dedenne GX. Feel free to take some insight from my deck.

Hope I helped! 🥰

sorry Siegislash  didn't see your comment and i changed my deck i think this one meshes better but i would still apreciate advice from a more experienced player on my new deck.

tf2classic30463 avatar

also the group of people I play pokemon decided we can only use pokemon 2020 and newer (I don't know why but thats what was decided.) So if you are telling me about a new card to add i would apreciate it if the card is 2020 or newer.

Thank you for all the help already

Why not just play standard? What you mentioned is basically another format.

Siegislash I have recommended that we change to standard many times but no one wants to play that way.

Rip 💀

Personally I would tell then that it's either standard or expanded, those are real formats, and SWSH+SV is not a real format and we can't be playing that way. Making a SWSH+SV deck would have to consider new metas and plays that no one is familiar with. If they're cringe and still wanna play by their cringe rules here are my suggestions, which may not be the most accurate considering this is a completely new format.

- Scrap Deoxys. Absolutely no synergy there. Same with Milotic, its not like you're running large hand or anything. Scrap Tsareena too; again, no synergy. Alakazam already does an untankable 360 dmg.

- Cook just sucks, there are so many other recovery methods. Plus you're attacking from bench, no need for recovery in the first place. Drop cape for the same reason.

- Alakazam works well with pivots by nature. Include Cornerstone Mask Ogerpon ex (Twilight Masquerade) and Mimikyu (Paldea Evolved) and possibly Iron Thorns ex (Twilight Masquerade) or Klefki (Scarlet & Violet) which all work great as pivots since no matter the meta, ability pokemon are always strong fsr, as well as V's which I would expect to be the meta in SWSH+SV.

- Really sand you can't run Triple Acceleration Energy (Unbroken Bonds) since that defines the best energy for Unown, in this case, run DTE or some other acceleration method, as Unown needs a hefty 3 energy, which ideally needs to be used turn 2 at the latest.

- Might want 1 more Unown Vstar, it's your central strategy, and having another is so much more consistent than running Peonia.

- The biggest thing you need is actually Leafy Camo Poncho (Silver Tempest) Unown will literally get gusted somewhere turn 3-5 and you're whole strategy is foiled.

- Too much Kadabra, Too much manaphy.

There is still so much you could do, as well as considering your opponents in SWSH+SV. Still it is most desirable if you get ur friends into a real big kid format instead of this coward SWSH+SV.

Hope I helped! 🥰

Siegislash they are very set on the rules we have now but i do think those are great additions to this deck and i will add them now.

thank you again for your help

tf2classic30463 avatar

Siegislash ok i have now updated the deck i think that the manaphy will be usefull because almost every deck i will be playing against has a good way to deal damage to the bench so the sooner i get it setup the better. I also added the Team yell's chear so I can retrive pokemon and supports from my discard. I thought this would fit better than super rod.

Eminginjo avatar

what about that fossil pokemon that i forgot the name of that gives x4 weakness? I think it was in 151

Vulpix123 avatar

I think you only need to play one manaphy

tf2classic30463 avatar

Eminginjo would kabutops be worth it? Because he is a stage 2 pokemon that would be weak to boss's order and just another evolution to setup.

tf2classic30463 avatar

yes but im having 2 in my deck just to be safe because if he is a prize card or gets unfortunetly killed then that will either delay or ruin my whole deck.
