Deck Primer

One of my favorite decks to play both online and at locals. Have taken several tournament wins at local events with this deck.

Opening and Set Up

Use Snorlax (Pokémon GO) / Mimikyu (Paldean Fates)  in opener to stall to allow for proper set up of the Bibarel (Brilliant Stars) & Skwovet (Scarlet & Violet)  hand shuffle combo. Use nestball to grab Rotom V (Lost Origin) for the early game setup help as well.

You can Technical Machine: Evolution (Paradox Rift) with the proper opener with energy and Arven. Prioritize getting Bibarel setup.

The Mill

Tied in Prizes

Before your oponnent has the prize advantage you can attach Double Turbo Energy (Astral Radiance) to your Wiglett (Scarlet & Violet) / Wugtrio (Scarlet & Violet) while on bench and then attach a Mist Energy (Temporal Forces).  to get it into active to start milling.

Opponent Takes a Prize

This is where the fun begins. Counter Catcher (Paradox Rift) and Reversal Energy (Paldea Evolved) is now online. Use counter catchers to pull up pokemon that swing for little or have high retreat costs. Combo these with the Stadiums explained below. You can now use reversal energies to set up instead of having to take two turns to grab double turbo and jet.

Sustain

Survival Brace (Twilight Masquerade) on Wugtrio to help survive 2 hits. Once used it will go to discard, can grab back with Cyllene (Astral Radiance) or Roseanne's Backup (Brilliant Stars)

Can use Penny (Scarlet & Violet) to reset Snorlax or pick up Rotom V. Once you have your set up and it is mid-game, you no longer need Rotom V.

Items

Hisuian Heavy Ball (Astral Radiance) is the only way you will touch your prizes (you can only grab basics with these, so plan accordingly)

Counter Catcher (Paradox Rift) comes online after opponent takes prizes, pull to stall. Combo with Stadiums.

Pal Pad (Scarlet & Violet) use to bring back supporters as needed. Typically pulling back Cyllene (Astral Radiance) or Team Yell's Cheer (Brilliant Stars)

Nest Ball (Scarlet & Violet) usually to grab Rotom V (Lost Origin) or Snorlax.

Supporters

Team Yell's Cheer (Brilliant Stars) used to grab mainly your supporters back, you don't really need to pull back pokemon with this. Miriam (Scarlet & Violet)  can be used to pull pokemon back from discard.

Arezu (Lost Origin) to grab your Bibarels and Wugtrios.

Iono (Paldea Evolved) provides new hands for you and opponent. Try not to play if you see your opponnent struggling to compete with the stall with their current hand.

Professor Turo's Scenario (Paradox Rift)  is used to pick up Rotom V or Snorlax.

Arven (Scarlet & Violet) set up is varied on stage of game. Early game I may grab Buddy-Buddy Poffin (Temporal Forces) and Technical Machine: Evolution (Paradox Rift). Mid-game could be Counter Catcher (Paradox Rift) and Survival Brace (Twilight Masquerade).

Cyllene (Astral Radiance) to top deck anything you need from discard. If nothing specific you can cycle Pal Pad (Scarlet & Violet) or Team Yell's Cheer (Brilliant Stars). You can grab this top deck with Bibarel or Skwovet.

Erika's Invitation (151) to pull a basic they are holding in their hand to active position. Helps with stalling.

Roseanne's Backup (Brilliant Stars) allows you to put from discard into deck a: pokemon, tool, stadium, energy. I am typically grabbing: snorlax/mimikyu/wugtrio, survival brace, calamitous wasteland/pokemon league, reversal energy.

Eri (Temporal Forces) used to discard 2 item cards in their hand. Target switches and switch carts. Same with Miss Fortune Sisters (Lost Origin).

Stadiums

This deck runs 3 different stadiums:

- Artazon (Paldean Fates) use this to grab basics as needed

- Pokémon League Headquarters (Obsidian Flames) use this to help stall (attacks by basic pokemon will cost 1 colorless energy more)

- Calamitous Wasteland (Paldea Evolved) use this to help stall (basic non-fighting type pokemon retreat will cost 1 colorless energy more)

You can retrieve some of these back as needed with Roseanne's Backup (Brilliant Stars)

Cards to drop/add

-Forest Seal Stone is in this deck but been thinking about dropping it, doesn't provide an insane amount of value, usually grab stadiums with this.

-Tested version with Hyper Aroma instead of survival brace, didn't like it much. Plays more consistent but less sustain.

-Can run Rabsca instead of Manaphy when playing into Dragapult.

Please let me know if there are any changed you think I should try! It feels a bit bricky sometimes, but after the addition of Rotom V, it has felt a lot more solid.

Overall seems pretty solid. I'm not well versed in Snorlax Stall, but Chi-Yu ex might a good pokemon to add for more consistancy. It discards 2 cards from the opponents deck for 1 energy (instead of Wugtrio's 3), doesn't use a coin flip, doesn't have to evolve with the catch of being worth 2 prizes. Miss Fortunte Sisters might help run your opponent out of switch cards and cards they need.

This is an awesome deck! Been trying to build snorlax mill for a while, really cool concept!

Made a few changes for consistency. Been winning a lot more locals with this set of cards. No changes really made with Shrouded releasing unfortunately.

Hi Sou11ess ,

Been loving this deck, and it's gotten me back into the Pokemon TCG since my childhood days; thanks for the improvements; I've been making my own, but I was hoping you hadn't abandoned this yet. The guide has helped compared to any other deck on this site and has gotten me up to the Lugia master ball tier, though I've seemed to have stopped there compared to the big six tournament decks - casuals are still fun to play with this. Hopefully, one day, a mill/stall deck like this can become meta, but until then, I was thinking about buying this physically to start going to in-person events just to hang out. Thanks for the fun~ I hope you publish other decks or keep working on this one. I agree that the shrouded fable didn't add much, which was a shame. :D

What is Manaphy (Brilliant Stars) used for these days? It seems to get sniped versus helping the board state, though Rabsca was exciting and seemed to have the same effect it usually gets Boss's Orders out.

phillipta I would never abandon my beloved deck haha. I'm still making modifications, just haven't published every little change I make because I'm still making sure its giving me the consitency that it kind of lacks.

Manaphy (Brilliant Stars) is primarily used against Radiant Greninja (Astral Radiance) , it hits for 90 which is enough to basically kill anything 2 things on bench except Bibarel in 1 hit. Rabsca is a nice alternative to help against Dragpult from killing Skwovet or Wigglet as well.

However, now with Kyurem from Shrouded Fable, it would be able to wipe 3 of your bench pokemon easily with damage so Manaphy has felt rather critical more than ever. (Or Rabsca, but I personally feel like it takes too long to set up).

Also, if Manaphy gets sniped, it just means 1 more turn that your Wugtrio/Bibarel didn't get KO'd and lets you intiate counter catchers and reversal energies.

Sou11ess , Thank you for the clarification; I can't wait to implement them. Enjoy worlds~!
