I have a mass of Wugtrio I have pulled. Have been looking for a deck to build with them that will just set people off at next tourney.
(Seriously, last one I went to there were so many Snorlax/Stall decks being played)
I have built a similar deck, but focused less on the stall/control cards (eri, Erika, misfortune sisters) and more on getting set up (colress tenacity, Irida, buddy puffin). It feels pretty easy to get wiglett benched and Bibarel set up, but I see times when I could use some hand manipulation or forced benching. Curious to give this a shot.
Ah, you've done it again; thanks for the update~!
Fell in love with the deck qnd I can't stop playing it online. Can't wait to test it at my locals soon! Some questions though. Why mist energy instead of propulsion energy ?
In my games, I end up rarely playing Team Yell's Cheer and Arezu, do you think they are mandatory or could be replaced with hammers to disrupt energy ?
@Magopix
Jet energy is fine. In and older iteration I ran it. Mist is used to stop Roaring Moon ex from killing mimiyku as well as preventing dragapult snipes.
Arezu was just a way to set up bibarel and wugtrio easily. If you don't have difficulty doing that, then you could swap it for something else. Team yells can cycle supporters and pokemon as needed, if you don't find yourself using it, feel free to remove.
I used to run more hammers but found them too inconsistent.
When adding in Rellor (Paldean Fates) and Rabsca (Temporal Forces), what other card besides Manaphy (Crown Zenith Galarian Gallery) has been removed?
phillipta I've made a lot of changes to this list to be more consistent. I'll update them right now...
Happy Holidays~! Thanks for the fast reply; I was just about to purchase a copy of this deck if you hadn't mentioned it, and I look forward to the new list~! It has taken me to Arceus League multiple times and is super fun~!
My local geek shop just got Pokemon TCG approved to run tournaments and knew this was the deck for me to bring, and if not to win, still be a fun deck while conversing with fellow Pokemon fans~!
phillipta
I personally don't run Rabsca just because I feel like it takes too long to set up. But I would look into cutting manaphy and something like handheld fan or something. Normally I would say to drop Mist energy since Rabsca kinda does the same job but mist is critical against 2 matchups right now in the active spot.
Mimikyu in active with mist energy stops: Roaring moon ex and Regigrado Vstar swinging with Alolan Exegutor coin flip.
Happy holidays!!!
Latest Changes:
+ Handheld Fan - Good against matchups w/ low energy counts
+ Neutralization Zone; - Survival Brace - Solid endgame; replace survival brace (was getting disrupted too hard by dragapult
+ Snorlax, Mimikyu; - Wiglett, Wugtrio: Cut mill line to 3/3 and added a Snorlax/Mimikyu. Realized after taking another second at a League Cup that end game is stronger once you mill some cards and then switch to trapping them. Adding another line of Snorlax/Mimikyu makes it easier to get set up and trap.
+ Shellos/Gastrodon - Gastrodon (Surging Sparks) from Surging, has an ability where on bench it can lock Stage 2 pokemon abilities on bench. This shuts off: Pidgeot, Charizard, Gardevior, Dusknoir, Archeops. Most of which are some of your hardest matchups.
- Night Strectcher - Made room for Gastrodon line; not really needed with increase in Snorlax/Mimikyu line
- Miss Fortune Sisters, Eri - Removed for space for other items/tools.
Sou11ess, I wholeheartedly agree with your updates and look forward to trying them out~! I'll let you know how the cup turns out, and I am subscribed to your decks for any changes you find out before me :D
Additionally, I have been recently tracking my coin tosses in TCG Live:
It took TCG Player about a month to get all the cards, but I am pleased that I came in second after attending my first in-person tournament last night. :D Thanks for the deck and great memories.
What were you thoughts about the upcoming F rotation out of the format affecting 15 cards of the draw engine of this deck?
phillipta I'll publish a list post-rotation when it comes. But as of now, I'm planning on making 2 iterations. One focused more on just on milling with less control and vice versa.
Draw engine is rough, likely will have to play around Dunsparce + Artazon.
Took out one Mimikyu and the Roseanne's Backup since double Mimikyu seemed overkill since you simply need something to faint to get Reversal Energies and Counter Catchers going.
Roseanne's Backup staying in the deck post Survival Brace removal from your list appears more like a "Win More" card and was kept more as a legacy respect for your old deck list.
The removal of both of these allowed me to put Milotic with Mentally Calm and a Feebas to avoid the ever present 1x copy of return to hand mechanic from my opponent.
Still nothing for Switches like Switch Cart and Pacharut, other than attempting to use Undersea Tunneling asap
Sou11ess Think I was able to make the rotation keeping the most similar play feel to your deck, most notably the draw engine: https://pokemoncard.io/deck/wugtrio-control-mill-124382
The honor was mine :D
