i totally forgot about mr.mime! Thats a funny deck :)
NEEETH Yeah, but even if those are options, I try not to use the objectively better trainers (Bill, Gust of Wind, etc.) since they feel cheap to me. But who am I to talk when I just posted THIS deck lol.
I get that, sorry about the repeated comments, mustve been a glitch
NEEETH No problem man! This site sometimes doesn't render things or duplicates others. I hope some maintenance comes through soon for better QOL.
how does potted helmet make it unbeatible
hairy pokeballs Mr. Mime's ability makes it so it can't take more than 20 damage in one attack, so you're restricted to attacks that deal 20 damage or less, which Pot Helmet prevents. While it's not immune to EVERYTHING, it can be incredibly annoying and hard to deal with if your opponent is unprepared.
I don't think pot helmet makes it invincible. Mr. Mime says 'whenever an attack does 30 or more damage'. I believe that means that it works only if the attack does (or would) actually damage it. So if there was an attack that did 50 damage, it would be reduced by 30 because of pot helmet and do 20 damage to the mime. This means it would still damage it but since the most damage that can be done to it is 20. Indeedee V neutralises this, which is good but I recommend removing some of the pot helmet because it makes the attacks that can damage it be the 40-50 damage ones instead of 10-20 damage ones. Still keep a few, but not all four. Then again my logic might be flawed and this is all wrong 😂
chookling It really depends on the interpretation of the "ability." Because the pot helmet reduces damage after weakness and resistance, I assumed that it would also come into play after the ability as well, whereas if it said before, it wouldn't. Therefore, the ability would prevent the damage before the reduction. I don't know if there's any official rules addressing this interaction, but I may be wrong lol.
