Yet Another Mill Deck (Obsidian Flames)

I heard that Mill decks weren't consistent, so I wanted to try my hand at making one that was utilizing the new Obsidian Flames Whishcash and Malamar. Though of course, Wugtrio is included as they're the most cheap and consistent Mill Mons I could find. I may or may not have also got inspired from some pulls. And still learning deck building.

Apart from playing like any other Mill deck, I wanted to include Malmar here despite it taking up 2 precious card slots with Inkay and itself. Through testing I found that it can help predict your opponent a bit more, but it's main job is to determine whether you should spend your precious energy or not via Radiant Greninja, since it's mostly Special. If you're not a fan, a 1-1 Feebas (Silver Tempest) and Milotic (Evolving Skies) might work better to pair with Manaphy.

While other Basic Energy types could be used, I decided to go with Fighting of course for Whishcash but also for how powerful Gutsy Pickaxe is. Pair that with Malamar, and you have a good way of knowing if you should spend it or not.

Speaking of Whiscash- ideally you'd want to use one Reversal Energy per on them, although this really comes up to what you draw and what's happening. They work just as well for Wugtrios. And if you want to really hit hard, and say, have the Milotic on your bench, you could stack one pretty high for up to 7 cards discarded in one turn. But that'd probably last for one turn lol.

Level Ball (Battle Styles) tend to be pretty popular with Mill decks, as are Rescue Carrier (Evolving Skies), but I decided to drop those instead for Clavell and Arezu pairs, along with one Klara. Ideally with all of them you won't need any Battle VIP Passes to rely on, though you could drop 1-1 Clavell and Arezu and instead go with 2 Hisuian Heavy Balls. Or any combination of Super Rod, Energy Retrieval, Energy Switch... the list goes on, and there's a lot of combinations that can work within the confines of this deck.

Shauna is also included as a pseudo Professor's Research (Shining Fates), although no Boss's Orders (Rebel Clash) or Iono (Paldea Evolved). I feel none of them were necessary, as the only time you'd want to use Professors Research with this deck is in an empty hand- though like above it is possible to drop and replace.

As for Boss's Orders or Iono, it's a Single Prize deck and while it might be worthwhile to try and disrupt your opponent, more than likely you'd be facing Lost Box or Pidgeot ex (Obsidian Flames) now. And with Iono, even if they have say, 2 Prize cards left, you're just putting cards into their deck that you were trying to discard anyway, making your job harder. Although if you did want to, Spirit Mask (Evolving Skies) along with Iono and Arven might work.
