Inspired by the Excadrill from Cosmic Eclipse, this deck uses Wo-Chien + Rabsca as the main attackers. The goal is to draw through the deck as fast as possible to get to <3 cards (using a variety of cards like Clay / Hapu / Explorer's Guidance on the supporters, Bicycle / Acro Bike / Roller Skates / Judge Whistle / Trekking Shoes on the items) then using any of the 4 strategies (from least to most awkward) to stay in the game:

The goal is to draw through the deck as fast as possible to get to <3 cards (using a variety of cards like Clay / Hapu / Explorer's Guidance on the supporters, Bicycle / Acro Bike / Roller Skates / Judge Whistle / Trekking Shoes on the items) then using any of the 4 strategies (from least to most awkward) to stay in the game:

1. Lileep + Viridian Forest. This exact loop will always keep you at 1 card and is by far the easiest way to protect from deck-out.
2. Flapple. Limited in how long it can keep working, as it generally requires some form of draw or search to keep this going. You get 2 damage counters every time you shuffle in Flapple, which can actually be helpful for fixing numbers if 120 from Wo-Chien isn't enough. Ideally though, you need to immediately bench Applin after using the ability.
3. Egg Incubator. A pretty odd card from PGO, you can use this to stay in the game on a 50/50. If you flip tails on Egg Incubator, it goes to the bottom of the deck. If heads, search for a Basic to bench. Ideally used with the Flapple combo, but can be used in a pinch.
4. Lillie's Pokedoll. Though the card is in to stall for the early turns, it can be used in desperate scenarios to stay in the game since you can send it to the bottom of the deck using its effect. Its awkwardness comes from needing to be in the Active spot to do this.

Ideally, you should only need to do this for a few turns since Wo-Chien and Rabsca become absolute menaces when the deck gets low enough.

This looks fun. Have you tried it irl?

 

I think Peony (Chilling Reign) and maybe even Bea (Vivid Voltage) would go hard in this deck.

I have yet to try any of my decks out IRL! I come from a background of deckbuilding mainly during the 2019-2021 Standard/Expanded metas. I returned to TCG earlier this year and only recently got into GLC from there. I don't have any locals or friends to play with, so I just build some fun ideas.

That being said, I do really like Peony. I may try running him, but I'm only hesitant as I'm very inexperienced with playing the card. I bailed on Standard right as that card started to see usage. I'm not too sure about Bea though; the goal is to discard a lot, but also to still get a lot of utility out of it! We run hyper-aggressive discard cards like Explorer's Guidance / Hapu / Clay explicitly to remove lots of cards from the deck at a time, I think Bea being essentially just a mill 5 and nothing else may be more harmful than helpful. Peony sounds really cool though.

Your background shines here as the deck is well built. It is so refreshing to see new takes and ideas on GLC, especially in grass where the standard is to play the same old Evopress Torterra line with Voltage Beat Rillaboom etc.

 

On second thought, I agree, Bea (Vivid Voltage) feels like overly aggressive self-mill and is propably not the best fit here :D The deck got me thinking and I thought I might aswell share my ideas. If you like Peony and already have Carmine on your deck, you may also like Sightseer (Lost Thunder) here.

 

I find unconventional or "off-meta" builds the most enjoyable, even if they aren’t the most powerful. Playing unique cards that seldomly see play bring flavor to the game. This deck is something I could build and play!
