Fighting is probably one of the hardest decks to pilot in GLC. While other decks get to have various support Pokemon, Fighting only has attackers. Fighting is probably one of the hardest decks to pilot in GLC. While other decks get to have various support Pokemon, Fighting only has attackers. Most lists focus on low-energy attackers and early-game aggression, but personally, it just ends up feeling like a worse lightning deck. Then I remembered rototiller Excadrill, which was the focus of the best control decks in expanded, and with the new ancient pokemon from Standard, I made a mill deck. With Excadrill, you can make use of Hapu, Explorers guidance, and Bea. Explorers guidance turns on your great tusk, bea can attach any energy including special energy and Hapu is just for extra consistency (hapu is likely the most cutable card). These cards wouldn't be considered for most GLC decks due to discarding being so bad in a format with only singletons, but Rototiller makes sure any cards you might need in a later turn will be in your deck at all points of the game. All while you are chipping away your opponent's deck with any of your mill attackers. Machamp also works as a late-game wall to stall out your opponent. If your excadrill ends up prized, your millers have useable attacks to fish it from the prizes and can guarantee it with a town map. This is definitely uncharted territory and wanted to see if anyone can tell me how to improve it.
