In part 2 of exploring the GLC Dragon type deck we venture to the sunken caverns of the treasured underground. Here we find disruptive dragons like Goodra and Ultra Necrozma which disable your opponent's energy supply making it harder for them to get going. Alongisde them is the Eon duo from Fusion Strike which can help accelerate energy for Latios to deal a massive 210 DMG! Lastly deep in the frozen tunnels lies Kyurem who can help soften up your opponent's benched pokemon. Unlike the Brutes covered in the first part of this series the Cavernous Dragons are lurkers and work to inhibit your opponent while building up massive hitters on the bench. The Goodra line is our primary wall to stop our opponent from playing their game. With Goomy's ability Sticky Membrane you'll be able to make all your opponent's attacks cost an extra energy which is insanely powerful in GLC format. If you're able to skip directly to Goodra that would be the most optimal as getting the Slimy Room ability up and running will be essential in slowing down the opposing player as you force them into a coin flip every time they try to attach an energy. Next we have a main attacker with Ultra Necrozma, unfortunately Necrozma has a horrible ability that limits its attack to work only when your opponents prize cards are 2 or less. In order to get around this we have two options the first is use Guzma and Hala to grab Silent Lab and Double Dragon Energy this is your quickest and best option to get Necrozma attacking immediately. The second and still a decent option is to use Hex maniac to shut off Necrozma's ability so that it can attack while at the same time also shut off your opponent's abilities. I think Latios is a perfect attacker whose energy costs synchronize well with Goodra and Kyurem. Dealing a solid 210 DMG is great however the discarding effect not so much. Thematically we play Crystal Cave as a stadium (alongside Stormy Mountains) to increase the vitality of your Caverns Dragons and heal any damage our opponent does to us. Now prepare to make your opponents beg for mercy as your Dragons interrupt their plans by shutting off their energy and abilities. Caverns Dragons provide the best of offensive and defensive options and are not easy beasts to tame, however with the right Trainer maybe they just might outshine their Brutish cousins.
