Manual Battle: Cards that interact with prizes need more options

We need more functionality to how prize cards are handled in the manual battle sim.

  • Blacephalon is an example of a card that will require the ability to reveal a singular prize, since currently you can only look at all of your prize cards. Its Blazer attack requires revealing a singular face-down prize card.
  • It would also be nice if prize cards were shown in, for example, a 2x3 or 3x2 grid with numbers assigned to each (and logs in chat that could read "PlayerA took Prize Cards #1, #2, and #3 as an example") allowing the player to take a prize they desire. Reason being for cards like Peonia which do not shuffle prizes and the placement of the 1-3 prize cards you return is actually important.
  • We also need the ability to keep prize cards face-up for cards like the aforementioned Blacephalon and Town Map.
  • For cards such as Gladion or Hisuian Heavy Ball, they don't have an easy way to to be shuffled into the prizes. Speaking of which... I don't think you really can shuffle the prizes. That is needed functionality.
  • When revealing a card from prizes, the logs will read "Player looked at their face-down Prize cards." and then a card being revealed would be shown as, for example "Player revealed Evolution Incense." Though that log makes sense with context, it's not entirely clear. It should be re-stated for the 2nd log "Player revealed Evolution Incense from their Prize cards."
    • Assuming the functionality I mentioned prior regarding numbering the prize cards, it could be "Player revealed Prize card #3: Evolution Incense."
    • On the same note as well, revealing a prize card should not close out of the prizes entirely. It's clumsy to have to re-open the menu and do it all over again to reveal individual prizes.

EDIT: This thread should've been filed under Feature Requests, I think. My mistake.

Thanks for this excellent feedback! It's very much appreciated. I'll continue to work on this, but I pushed an update just now that will remedy some of this.

I'll be away a lot of tomorrow, but I'll be working for the rest of the week afterward.

Just checked on this again, looks like it has improved quite a bit. I still have some comments:

  • "View & manage prize cards -> Shuffle face down" should close out of the menu so you can't see the cards after they've been shuffled. There is a way to do this manually by closing the menu and re-opening it, then shuffling, but it's a bit unintuitive to do it this way.
  • A way to shuffle prize cards back into the deck would be useful for cards like Redeemable Ticket. It's currently quite unwieldy to do this, requiring the prize cards to be taken to hand since they can't be drag-dropped onto the deck. Menu options to shuffle them back would be good.
  • Though the layout is improved for the prizes, a way to select which card you'd like to take would be nice. Whether that means changing "View & manage prize cards" so that it doesn't reveal the prize cards to the player themselves until they're selected, or making a separate option to select which number of prize card they want. Reason is because a lot of people have preferences for which specific prize cards they want.

A side note: Taking cards from the deck while searching shouldn't close the menu immediately after doing one action. This makes you have to keep re-opening for every card you want from the deck. There are a variety of cards that can search out lots of cards at once, such as Energy Search Pro or Precious Trolley. This makes it take quite a while to find the specific cards you want.

Thank you again for the feedback! It's immensely helpful in allowing me to capture different scenarios.

A new update has been pushed out that I worked on over the weekend to address these points! Thanks!
