OP

I'm currently theory crafting a couple lists at the moment, and I've noticed that post-site overhaul, the search engine has lost the ability to search for cards based on the description of the card. For example, if I were to search "Fighting" before, it would pull up all cards that mention the fighting type within their effects, like Bea. Now, I only get cards that have "Fighting" actually in their name, like Fighting Fury Belt. I can see how having all mentions show up can be annoying, but I've found that it makes trying to find the right effect for a deck more tedious than it would be otherwise. So I suggest having a checkbox in the filters menu that has it check for card text if selected, or just names if not selected. That way, we get the best of both worlds. Thanks!

text:fighting https://pokemoncard.io/card-database?n=text%3Afighting&sort=name&sortdirection=asc I recommend checking out our advanced search syntax. On the card database, if you press the "?" icon in the search bar it'll give you a breakdown of the advanced search syntax.

Oh okay, thanks a lot! I haven't fully gotten used to the new UI and didn't realize this was a thing. I figured that it was a byproduct of the site overhaul.

Is there a way to search for phrases longer than a word? For example, currently if I search for "text:discard your hand" it brings up any cards that contain the word "discard" rather than cards containing the string of text "discard your hand"

You can now!

For example, you can do: text:"Discard up to"
